timmytak Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Alright I would like to know from anyone thats in a relationship who comes first. Girlfriend/Boyfriend Or Friends? Why i ask is my gf or maybe ex not sure right now thinks its ok to make me and her friends equal. I disagree with this. She thinks its ok. I am 24 she is 20. How do you get someone to realize that its not the case? I have been trying to explain but she still does not understand. We have been going out for a year and a month.

I have very few friends and they all live in different places (Cali, South Carolina, West Virginia, ect.) It's hard because I feel left out. I have this debate (mostly with myself, sometimes with fiance) about who should come first. I get mixed messages and it's confusing. My personal opinion is that friends and gf/bf/spouse should both be importnat to an individual but I will agree with you that friends should not come before a SO.
threebyfate Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 It's all about balance. Sometimes, when your friends are in need, they should be put ahead of your SO. If all things are equal, then your SO should always come first. Where people confuse things is that sometimes, they need some time away from their SO, so rather than being straightforward with their SO, they pretend to altruism so they don't look like the bad guy.

I do Agree that friends are important however I should be more important, I dont see how you can really balance friends and a relationship! Yeah if its a dire need and her friends need help its ok to put them first, but if its just to hang out and bail out its not cool! So we are having a talk today. Havent talked or seen her for 9 days. Not sure how everything is going to work out, but it will work out for the best. And I dont understand how you can have a fiance and her act this way towards you? I know I could not do it. Today is going to be a good or bad day for me lol:confused:. I even bought her a promise ring to give to her to show her I am really serious about her, but I am not going to give it to her if she cant understand where I am coming from. And it will end if she cant understand. Wish me luck guys!
