Wow GT. You ARE my soulmate.

You have no idea how hard it is for me to find RC, but I will not settle for anything less.

They sell it in 2 litre bottles for 89 cents in town here. :)

And donnamaybe is who I want to be.

I find every single aspect of your life fascinating.

Anyone ever hear of Tropical Fantasy soda? It's like 49 cents a liter. They actuall call them "nutters" in NY because it's said to lower a guys sperm count. If a dude was drinking that consistently, then I can see it as a problem.

Oh, honey, if you had ANY idea. My latest big excitement was finding dishwasher soap that didn't leave residue on my glasses.

I like a simple life in the country - barbecue, family, etc. - but on my weekend night out with my friends - WATCH OUT! :p

Seriously I find daily soda drinking, coke among that very anoying. My gf drinks a coke usualy atleast once a day. Seriously in my mind coke is one of the companies/foods I hate in life.

I wish there was some way I could get my gf to stop drinking Coke. I hate coke!!! Seriously its almost as bad as smoking daily in my opinion.

OMG she's like, worst girlfriend EVER. I can't BELIEVE she would do something like that. And every day! Man, if my boyfriend drank a coke every day, he would SO be dumped. I wouldn't stand for that kind of treatment if I were you. Show her who's boss, veto the coke and break open the pepsi. Pronto.

Will you guys stop being so hard on Green! He has an honest issue with his partner and is seeking advice. Why you gotta be a bunch of pro-soda Nazis.

HEheheeee! This thread has me laughing.

Filling a vending machine does not mean you "work for a franchise". Whatever the hell that even means.

Do you even know what a franchise is? Even most regular idiots on the street know what a franchise is.

Come on Green, you have to laugh at MalachiX's post!

While I don't drink soda pop, it's not a big deal if someone else does, as long as it's not all day long.

Admittedly, if you want to lose or control your weight, one of the easiest ways to do it, is to stop taking in empty calories like soda, junk food, processed baking, processed foods, etc.

But even you, Green, have got to admit this is controlling behaviour and an over-reaction.

You really think so? Remember - this is the guy who is going to get a paternity test without any cause to believe his woman has cheated on him.

I think Green uses LS to vent. If he were this controlling in real life, he wouldn't still be with his girlfriend, considering the issues they've gone through. If anything, I think he's a bit of a push-over, in real life.

Green, there's nothing wrong with you wanting your girlfriend to conform to your health standards. We expect our partners to conform to our religion, lifestyle, TV-preferences, and much more. The idea that soda-drinking should be taboo is simply ludicrious. I understand that you don't want to break up with her but it's clear that action needs to be taken or this issue will continue to grow and fester like a cancer on your relationship. I suggest the following:

The next time you find her drinking a coke, simply give her a light but firm slap across the face. Don't do it too hard but make sure she feels it. Then, pretend like nothing happened. If she asks you why you hit her, simply look confused and explain she must have imagined it. Continue this process every time you find her drinking a coke. Gradually, her subconcious will start to associate sodas with physical pain and she'll crave them less.

If you havn't seen results within two weeks, it's time for phase two. Get a giant two liter coke bottle, ram it down her throat, and scream, "how do you like coke now?" Assuming she doesn't choke to death, this should seal the deal. Finally, if she relapses, you'll have to cut off a finger from the hand that held the coke. Yes, I know what you're thinking: "shouldn't I cut off the whole hand?" While I agree the whole hand is more traditional, I think it's clear that you love this girl and wouldn't want to do anything barbaric. The finger is also good since it will allow you another nine potential lessons if she doesn't get the point.

I hope this helps and you're successful in teaching your GF the error of her ways.

That was pretty awesome :lmao:

I haven't read all the posts in this 5 page thread.. who knew coke drinking would cause such a stir?

Green I have a question for you.

Would you rather have your girl who drinks a can of coke every day OR

a girl who would NEVER touch coke,

...or meat that contains growth hormones, any vegetable that isn't guaranteed to be organic (pesticides are carcinogenic) , no deodorant (contains aluminum) refused to drive a car (bad for the environment), no cell phone (radiation and brain cancer), no alcohol, no white sugar, no white flour, I'm sure you get the idea.

Seriously? :p

O.K. Suggest mixing fruit juice and carbonated water. It works for me. I've been soda free for a while now!

Sorry, I think I'm an irregular idiot.

Regular Coke is too carbonated. I don't drink soda except for an occasional diet-Pepsi cherry but I do love a fountain root beer or birch beer.

I'm drinking a Pepsi right now, am I even allowed in this thread?

I like diluted sodas, you ever notice that sodas don't really quench your thirst? they seem very temporary in addressing thirst, and you have to drink more and more to quench your thirst. So I add tons of water to my soda and voila, I quench my thirst and get a little sugar fix. I drink diluted soda once or twice a week and water and milk and juice the rest. Look, Green, it isn't a big deal. Once a day is fine, as long as it's 8 oz or so. 1 can is around 100 calories, basically around a slice of bread in calories. I hope you don't have a problem with her eating an extra slice of bread too :) Now if she drank a 2 liter bottle a day, I would say get the heck away from her, major issue there. But one can isn't going to kill anyone.

First they took our smokes, Green wants to take our soda, Jersey wants to take our porn, the dems are trying to take all our money and soon obama will be taking our guns, where does it end?

You forgot those commies who want to fluoridate your water in order to control your mind.

I thought I was the only one who purposely altered my soda to be less carbonated and sweet.

What is your father's middle name? ;) Some of the oddest things are hereditary. I have the exact same handwriting of an uncle I've never met.

well there sure have been a lot of posts. I read them all but am not in the mood to take the time to respond to each individualy.

Most all the posters seem to come down on me for feeling this way. Personaly I do not believe she will ever stop drinking coke every day unless she decides to her self. If I tell her coke is bad for her ect. and that it bothers me and she should stop it will just cause fights and she will probably continue drinking it.

I still wish she would stop, and it did anoy me to watch her drink a can with dinner last night.

The truth is she seems very healthy and looks great. We are both still in our twenties though. I worry about her in the future. Seriously I relize even a person who eats healthy can still get very sick. But I just feel her highly processed food diet is going to lead to disaster. I do see coke as that symbol.

My gf rarely drinks alcohol, she eats fish but other then that is practicaly a vegitarian other then the dairy prodects and ocasional egg. She likes Salad. I guess my major complaints are the frickin coke/ white bread / highfructose mornings include cereals and frozen wafles and highfructos aunt J syrup.

My point is I am venting, I know better then to think I can make a change for her she should make for herself. I realize that she's human and she does do a lot of things healthy even if she drinks coke and has cereal or what ever for breakfast. I just wish I could change the way she thought about that stuff.

oh Oh OH OHHH MY GOD!! You gotta can her ass! High fructose stuff! How dare she!

Believe it or not, the breakfast stuff isn't so bad, your body is hungry in the morning and tends to use all the energy given to it through breakfast! I wouldn't be so concerned about the syrup or cereal (that stuff tastes like crap to me, lol, I truly wonder how she can handle that syrup, real maple syrup is the way to go). A can of Coke is 100 calories. And white bread? Yeah she should eat wheat bread instead, but what can you do?

anyways, this stuff won't kill her, ok? Just drop it, isn't it hard enough to get quality gf anyways? why should you make mountains out of molehills and ruin your relationship? It sounds like relationship sabotage to me.

If you want her to change, you can tell her your opinion and leave it at that. Just don't fight about it and don't pass judgement on her. That's a guaranteed fight right there.
