Author VertexSquared Posted March 24, 2010 Author Posted March 24, 2010 She's interested. She's giving you an opportunity to put on your pants. I suggest you do so. *You* work out the logistics from now on, if this lunch goes well, and don't chatter on about them. Good luck Don't chatter on about what? I meant to work the logistics but she kinda beat me to the punch. XD I was hoping she'd basically say "I'm free at this time" so I could reply with a few suggestions.
sweetjasmine Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Am I reading too much into this? Yes. Stop thinking so much. You asked her out AND SHE SAID YES.
Author VertexSquared Posted March 24, 2010 Author Posted March 24, 2010 Are you gonna be the one who pays? After all that talk about her "cool office" she better be willing to go dutch. Oh, I plan on paying and I totally don't mind it, either. XD When I moved for my new job, I landed a pretty sweet position that pays decently well, and so money isn't a huge issue when it comes to meals. Pretty sure I have a cool office too. XD XD XD XD
mrkleen Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 So you don't like water now? Water is more nourishing than coffee anyway. yeah, that's why you keep mentioning having water with a girl Nick...because it is more 'nourishing'.
St. Nick Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 yeah, that's why you keep mentioning having water with a girl Nick...because it is more 'nourishing'. If my strategy was a failure I would have quit it by now. But hey, Mr. My-gf-makes-more-than-me-but-I'll-still-pay-despite-her-objections-cuz-I'm-"traditional", if I owned my own company I'd definitely hire you. Seeing as how you like to spend money on your fellow employees, why don't you also pay for their bonuses and such. It would save the company loads of money just to use your cash instead. Plus, you still haven't explained to me why you have to spend money to be gracious and generous. You spend cash on women, your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and a whole lotta other people on a regular basis. Who does that? Seriously, tell me who does that. I'll bet the reason why you do it is because you're trying to pay for people to like you. And that's saaaaaaaaaaaad. That has got to be the lamest thing I've ever heard.
alphamale Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 How do you typically invite someone to go on a first date and what do you ask them to? "would you like to go out to dinner with me this coming friday nite?"
Author VertexSquared Posted March 24, 2010 Author Posted March 24, 2010 I am now debating brewery versus burger joint XD
Author VertexSquared Posted March 24, 2010 Author Posted March 24, 2010 Do you get the impression that she's leaning towards the burger idea?
alphamale Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I am now debating brewery versus burger joint XD i'd go w/ the brewery so you can get her hammered
New Again Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 What the hell does XD mean? Dude, I overanalyze and you make me look normal.... Just chill. Choose whatever it is YOU want to do.

Choose whatever it is YOU want to do. I tend to overanalyze to the point of exhaustion and confusion, gah. It's tough because I don't even know many of the good food locations around where I work, yet.
Author VertexSquared Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 That's what I'd like to know, lol. I had suggested drinks (one explicitly and one implicitly) and both got turned to lunch, lol.

If I had to pay people to like me...that would makes ONE OF US that has people that actually like us....lol I am generous because that is what a gentleman is - gracious and polite and generous. Maybe being a cheap prick and offering water to every woman works for you. But please dont confuse being a penny pinching douche with being more of a man. A real man is secure with himself enough to take care of those he cares about. I work hard for my money - and am more than happy to spend it on people I care about. Go buy your girl a nice glass of water....I am sure she will be well impressed.

Celebrities pay people to like them, but when the chips are down those people are gone. Ask MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice if all the people they paid to like them are still around. It's obvious you seriously do pay people to like you. You still can't explain how spending money is the best way to express generosity or graciousness. But I'm not waiting for that answer anymore. Your posts have confirmed how lame you are.

St. Nick Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I'll explain it to you, Mr. Cheapo. There is a published study by an economist that shows a very strong correlation between the spending power of a male and his number of sexual partners. Notice that I said SPENDING power, not EARNING power. Try it, and see it for yourself... Oh, you're in Dallas. That figures. Dudes in the South spend cash on women like they're throwing away paper. When I lived in San Antonio I couldn't stop shaking my head at all the lame things dudes did to impress women: buying video games, expensive clothes, drinks, groceries, cars, etc., and sometimes they even bought this stuff for women. Guys in the South have no business trying to tell other dudes how to use their money. If the entire U.S. population of males acted like that then this country would be in the third world.
Johnny M Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Do not EVER go for dinner or do anything else that involves spending more than a trivial amount of money on the first date. There is no shortage of women out there who use guys for free meals, gifts, etc. with no intention of ever sleeping or being involved in a relationship with them. If you take a woman out to a nice restaurant and it leads to a second date, you can never be totally sure if she's actually into you or just likes the idea of free meals and entertainment. If, on the other hand, you do something simple like going for a walk or going for coffee and she wants to see you again, you can be 100% sure that she's interested in you.

Notice that I said SPENDING power, not EARNING power. Try it, and see it for yourself... Notice it said spending POWER, not total spending. In any event, what's your point? That a rich guy can have sex with more hookers, escorts, strippers and massage parlor employees than a poor guy? That much is obvious.
St. Nick Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Oh, you're in the Midwest, which I assume you mean U.S. Midwest. Here in America, men pay for dates. Men use money to impress women. Don't even argue with me -- this is fact. Go to Eastern Europe, South America, or Asia. Men in those places are either unwilling, or most likely, CAN'T AFFORD to throw money around like that. Women in those countries, after being so used to being treated as cheap dates, are very impressed by Americans who treat her for a five-star evening. America is a capitalist country, and this philisohy permeates in our daily lives. If you don't like money, move to a communist paradise like Cuba or North Korea. Here in America men pay for dates and use money to impress women, true. But does that make it right? People also kill each other for stupid reasons in the U.S. does that make it right? I'm not surprised you would give me the typical Let's-Go-America response since that's the type of behavior they subscribe to down there. It's like Texan attitudes are stuck in the 1950s, weird as hell. Have you ever been to Eastern Europe? I've been to Prague, Kiev, St. Petersburg, and Moscow. The women there are a whole lot better than U.S. women and are great to be around, even if you're a Russian. My Russian buddies have actually shown me a wild tape of them driving on the sidewalks having sex on the streets of Moscow!! Unbelievable! They're used to everybody being poor and broke so they have an easygoing attitude toward it, whereas here the women get stuck up over it. Spending money on every last woman you meet is a stupid idea. Are you going to tell me you and mr kleen have no social skills whatsoever that you can't even impress women by being funny, intelligent, or being a good conversationalist? You guys can't talk to women to get them to like you? LAME!

I wish I could shake your hand. Seriously! All these lame dudes on this forum are pissing me off beyond belief. And the sad thing is they're messing it up for us guys who know how to act around women. If more men in this country had self-esteem then women wouldn't pull nearly as much BS as they do.

This is also one of the reasons why Ukraine and Russia have a serious HIV epidemic. And, no, they're not easy-going about money. They're easy-going about sex. But if a man can't provide, he's a failure, and if you can't afford the status symbols, you're not good enough to date.
