I've been seeing a girl for a tiny bit over 3 months now. We are not official. Things were going fantastic in the very beginning, but unfortunately I'm terrible at relationship stuff. Recently I've been fearing that I have been way to passive and as a result, she is loosing/lost interest in me. However, she does still seem to be receptive to my calls/texts and still initiates contact without me contacting her first. Unfortunately though things were made worse becuase I have been sick all week and she was out of town so we haven't been able to see each other in about a week and half and don't have plans to get together again yet. Ladies, if you had been seeing someone for this long and were loosing or lost interest, would continue to be receptive to, and/or initiate contact, or at this point would you at least let the other person know how you feel rather than just stop talking to them?

Sounds like maybe she's still interested, but maybe trying not to have high hopes since you haven't been very good at initiating/keeping contact?

Women have different types of torture. Some prefer the "chop the head right off of the realtionship" method and others prefer the "stab you with butterknife 1,000 times" before you get the hint.

I think you're only shot at salvaging this is to reinvent yourself and become much more assertive and in control. If it doesn't work at this point, it doesn't work but at least you tried.

What is it that makes it seem like she's losing interest? Nothing in your post indicates that.

she is interested. but a man should take initiative.

The hardest thing to get out of people in this world is an honest, straightforward answer. To anything. Quit wondering and ask her directly if she's lost interest.

I might sound needy and insecure of a man.

No you will not sound needy, she will appreciate your concern, a good woman likes honesty . . . talk to her

You know that dull glow a flashlight puts out when the batteries are going dead? Kinda makes a light but you really can't see anything? That's her interest level right now. If it weren't for proactive contact, I'd say the light is out and the butter is getting hard (that's an icebox analogy) ;)

Ask her on a date. Why are you even here? This is simple. Ask her on a date. Worst thing that can happen is she'll say no and you can go back to being passive and purchase a cat.

Welcome to LS! :)

Why don't you just ask her? anyway, yes, most women would still stay in contact while disengaging emotionally-by the time they are able to verbalize that they do not want to be in contact anymore, they are already emotionally gone, imo.

Well, I primarily thought this because when we did talk it seemed things would be cut short, or if we were talking via texts it would abruptly end. Fortunately this came up last night and she acknowledged this and explained why....what she said made sense and was perfectly legitimate. Its not something I'm worried about any longer.
