Caramelize Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 What are your thoughts on 'I love you'? Who do you think should say I love you first? The guy or the girl?
marsle85 Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Guy. I won't say it before he does. But that's just me.
tigressA Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 I say it when I feel it. If that's before or after the guy says it, makes no difference to me.
JustJoe Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 I agree with TA, the moment it's called for, is when you should say it, regardless of which one is first. It's not a competition.
SaintDragon Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 I know I'll be the one to say it first, so I'll say the guy. I mean if some girl out there wants to be with this face, then, I will love her a lot lol. I'd have no trouble saying I love ya, Babe.
Jersey Shortie Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Whoever feels it and wants to express it should say it. Gender moot here. This "she should/he should" say it first business is breed out of insecurity.
mrkleen Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 You should just let it flow when you feel it....assuming it isnt after a month or some other period of time that is so sort it is creepy. You usually start alluding to it before you actually say it....so hopefully if you two are in tune with each other, you both sort of know you love each other before it becomes "official"
Tnerforireyeh Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 What's with all the bright-line rules and "shoulds" and "musts" here lately? Really weird. Are the board mods putting all these threads on here to drum up page views or something? One gender "should" "always" say something before the other gender? How weird.
Crazy Magnet Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Whomever I'm dating usually says it first b/c it's not something I throw out there very fast. It usually takes me several months before I'll start saying ILY. I wouldn't mind to say it first, it's just never happened that way for me.
paleblue Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 i am of the opinion the girl should say it first. im aleady doing most everything else first!

The gender question is b/c sometimes you can see something thats not there and end up super embarassed. It's a real question because it's happening right now in my life. I am pretty sure feel it from him but I'm too scared to say it first. Edited March 22, 2010 by Caramelize

Author Caramelize Posted March 22, 2010 Author Posted March 22, 2010 Thank you everyone for answering. But how do you know if the feelings are actually mutual if no one actually says it first? It's like the chicken or the egg.
counterman Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Well, for me, if I am feeling it then I'll say it, even if I am not sure the other person loves me back.
DustySaltus Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Love isn't about saying "I love You", it's all about actions. Regardless of who says it, man or woman.
Leia Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 For me, I just know it that we both feel the same way. Like Dusty says, it's all in the actions.
make me believe Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Yeah, you can usually tell if the sentiment is going to be returned. I said it first to my bf and I knew he would say it back.

And if they are doing mixed signals then they are, at the best, on the fence about their feelings, right? I mean if you know then you would say so, right? ~I read somewhere that guys actually want the girl to confess her feelings first?!?!!!?~

I've never heard or read that before. There are guys other there that prefer to hear it from the women first, for whatever reasons.
Meaplus3 Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 I don think it really matter who says it first. If one feels it say it. Mea:)
