Smileyeyes Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 (edited) A man that I have worked with for a couple of years suddenly seemed to take and interest in me about a year ago. I didn't see him all that much to start with but eventually I started having feelings for him. We joked and flirted and got on really well. He would gaze into my eyes with that soft look of love. Many times he did this and it seemed very genuine. He always looked sad when I had to leave to go away - he would stare at me forlornly from accross the room - not saying anything but it seemed as if he was smitten with me. To cut a long story short one night after drinks in a bar he kissed me - very tenderly - that was all. The next day we were at a work do and he avoided me but I caught him looking at me several times. At the end of the night he came to me and whispered into my ear that I was lovely and very good at my job. He stood there holding my hand tight and close to him. But when it was time to say goodbye (he was getting transferred), I went to hug him and he backed off and hugged a couple of friends beside him instead - I felt hurt. Did he do this because he did not want them to know how he felt about me? Do you think this guy had deep feelings for me? Edited March 19, 2010 by Smileyeyes spelling

We have been flirting for over a year now and I was gutted when I found out he was getting transferred. After he kissed me, he told me that he cared about me. I just got confused by the way he used to flirt with me with the long - apparently loving gazes and the way he would touch my arm and laugh - basically a real lovely guy showing all the signs of liking me. In the past he has hugged me goodbye - that was before we kissed - both were his initiation - but I am confused as to why would he hold back from hugging me in front of our mates - do you think he was afraid of showing his feelings for me? I do really miss him now.
