NEVERINTENDEDTHIS Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Hi everyone! Well after almost 3 weeks of strickly NC guess who calls me this morning? XMM!! The company I work for has been bought out and my job is over March 26th. He found out I was going to work somewhere else and contacted me to see how I was doing and to KEEP in touch with him so we could go to lunch one day. Well I'm proud of myself I told him good luck with his life and I wouldn't be keeping in touch. I'm so glad I feel the way I do now after so many ups and downs in this whole mess. I still can't figure out why he would even contact me. Makes no sense what so ever. Hope everyone is doing good and Happy St Patrick's day!!
ladydesigner Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 It's the lovely fishing expedition. Good for you for stating you will not be in touch. You sound like you are in a good place and holding strong. Yay Happy St. Patties Day to You!!!!
Author NEVERINTENDEDTHIS Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 Thank you LD!! I can't believe I'm finally here but I've arrived! It took a lot of crying and everything else to get here.
Author NEVERINTENDEDTHIS Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 Good for you! This makes my day! Yeah, he was fishing. Something came up (the job) to give him legitimate reason to call, so he thought he'd use that as an excuse to see if you'd bite. What did he say when you declined? Did he agree to leave you alone? Don't you feel empowered? Yes I do feel so good!! I didn't melt I didn't act like I was on top of the world for him calling me. !! Thank you for your words of encouragment. I love your saying also at the end !!!
IfWishesWereHorses Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Reclaiming the power someone had over you is liberating! WTG NIT!
Hazyhead Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 That's fantastic NIT! It must have felt so great to tell him 'No thanks'. Good for you.
TarnishedInequity Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 That's great news I just started out on a slow process of extracting myself from my "MM" and I can't wait to be able to answer the phone and speak as such (or not) and simply feel liberated about it all! Congratulations
