And tomorrow I start my new lifestyle. The diet pill thing doesn't work for me I'm just too sensitive, today I became light sensitive and I associate it with the pills or else my eye infection returned. Either way I'm done with the pills and I'll be calling the eye doctor.

I plan to work out, swim, work out, swim, etc.. I'm starting with a 7 day pass to check the place out and find out how expensive it is to join. If that place is too expensive I'll end up at the local community center but I got the pass so I may as well use it.

I haven't had a gym membership since before my son was born, that was 15 years ago. I've been repaying a tax debt so now that I've paid that off I can use the money towards the gym membership.

I feel really good about this, I used to really love working out, and now I feel more in control of my weight. As I work out I improve my diet because it's so much work to be doing to eat crap why would I do it. KWIM?

I need to lose a lot of weight but most recently due to meds I gained 50 lbs., I've since been switched to a different med but the weight stuck, so needless to say I have my work cut out for me.

Any exercise tips? Wish me luck.

I am losing pregnancy weight by sticking to achievable short term goals and really watching my diet.

Am cutting out excessive carbs, refined sugar and alcohol and am upping my protein intake with things like almonds, seeds, tempeh chickpeas etc etc.

Keeping a food and exercise diary really really helps, as you can track your progress.

Kudo for you for realizing that diet pills is not the solution for healthy living & strong/fit body.

Kristine, if you have the willpower, even doing exercises at home will help tremendously. If you find the gym is too expensive, there are so many online program or great DVDs that you can do at home. Check Jillian Michaels 30 day shred or even start walking everyday everywhere you go or taking stairs instead of elevator/lift. People have been raving about P90 or P90X too...something to consider if you decide that gym might be too expensive.

Check my profile, I was able to tone my body in 2 months just doing exercises at home while before, I tried to go to a gym everyday but didn't have enough motivation to go and ended up wasting my money.

It comes to motivation and once you have it, then I think it doesn't matter where you exercise. Try to force yourself to do daily exercise, even if it means 15 mins or 90 min, get your body used to it. Find something fun too, if your gym has zumba, I know many people love doing zumba (and can burn up to 700 cals on the intense cardio one).

Also, counting your calories help. I did it for 2 weeks at livestrong.com and didn't realize how much sugar/sodium I packed in a day until I started logging them.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tips cuppa. Woah 700 calories, I don't think I'm up for that kind of exercise just yet, may die if I were to try it. LOL But the calories counting thing I could use for sure. I want to get thin, see my doctor and have her go into shock to see me actually lose weight. I've been gaining weight, not sure if it's the meds, or diet, but I know exercise will definitely give me a handle on it. And that website should too.
