If a girl asks you for guy/relationship assistance in general... am I digging?

If a fellow female friend asks you about your opinion on guys/relationships/etc and if "a guy and a girl can really be friends," does this mean anything? I feel like, "well, we're friends, aren't we?" but she was asking about some guy at her work. I don't understand girls sometimes. XD

It means you're already in the friend zone.

I agree with this.

I would sometimes do that to gauge guy's interest in me. If he just happily gives advice and doesn't seem bothered by it at all then I would assume that he isn't interested in me.

The friend zone sucks. :p I wish I were less shy! It's a killer.

That's why I don't say anything at work. There is just way too much time for chit chat at work. I find it's better to be mysterious, it makes you more datable. I leave the chatting for Happy Hour.

stop wishing, and just do all the things you want to do but are to afraid.

You know, I ask my best friends these questions when we talk. If a girl asks you this question it shows she trusts you enough as a " friend" to confide in you.

'I can't be alone'

'I like sex. I need sex'

'I'm glad you're here tonight'

'No one knows. I had an affair'

'Wanna get high?'

Just another typical recent night at the carhill medical/psychological facility. BTW, this one (female) is married over 20 years. I recommended marital counseling. I did not get high. A very bad choice probably would have resulted. Boundaries :)

OP, that's receptacle talk. You're a receptacle. Girlfriend with penis syndrome. In the above example, I was a willing receptacle. I love her like a daughter.

I don't wanna be a damn girlfriend with a penis lmfao. I was pretty avoidant to her questions, really.

lol that's how it is. you should tell her, 'loook, don't come to me about your boyfriend troubles, because i honestly don't care. talk to one of your girlfriends.'

Yup. That's what you've gotta say - and you may have to repeat yourself. My FAVOURITE person to talk to about my "guy problems" is in fact, a guy. I like having a male's perspective on things. The problem is, I know it drives him nuts. He's gotta remind me to shaddup sometimes. ;p

IMO, it's not a problem if you're friends and you're there to hear his 'guy problems' and show care and concern; that's what friends do. Tampon duty is one-sided. Watch out when you call a woman on it. Whoa, you'd think you pissed in her milk ;)

Well, how did YOU answer the question?

I said "I am the worst person to ask these kinds of questions to -- my views are pretty atypical. You're better off asking other women, probably" XD

And what if he is bothered?

Then I would flirt him and hope he picks up on it and asks me out.

Note: the really tricky thing here is that I would ask for relationship/dating advice from men I am not interested in as well. In those cases, I am not looking for reaction and am genuinly asking for advice and only seeing them as a friend.

I am just saying that one should not necessearily think that asking for realtionship advice is the kiss of death. If a guy is shy and you don't really want to be the chaser, you have to use subtle means to see if he is interested.

Just to test the waters, I got her number (saying that I hadn't had it yet, which was true) -- later sent her a random text. Got a reply, sent another reply, that was that.

I have promised myself never to be friends with women. Once I detect signs, I drop them like hot pancakes.
