weylyniw Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 A friend of mine is experiencing a rough patch right now. He truly, deeply, madly hates his job; but cannot leave it for almost another year due to a contractual obligation. This loathing of his profession is wearing on his soul and attitude, and has been for awhile. It has really been coming to a head over the past couple of days, with his job asking more and more out of him. I know I cannot fix him or his job situation...but I want to be there for my friend. He usually remains pretty stoic and is your stereotypical male as far as communication goes; so offering my ear only goes so far. He isn't a big fan of "the sun will shine tomorrow" and "hang in there!" posters kind of advice, and I'm not much of an advice giver anyways. I wish I knew the right thing to say to perk him up, or the right thing to do to lift his spirits. Any advice? Anything at all?
