Pizzaman81 Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Me: "Let me walk you to the door" Her: "Oh no.. don't worry, you don't have to" Did I: A. say, "No no worries", walk up anyway... now feeling awkward because I feel it's unwanted. B. say. "SEE YA!!" Drive off.
CarrieT Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Knowing you, Pizzaman, of course you walked her to the door! It is the Gentlemanly thing to do which so many modern girls are simply not used to...
xpaperxcutx Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Just do A then she'll give you a hug if not a kiss goodbye. You know they were just being polite, but you're a gentleman.
Hot Carl Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Sometimes I actually do B if I know she is just trying to be polite. Some women need to learn to say what they mean.
TaraMaiden Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Me: "Let me walk you to the door" Her: "Oh no.. don't worry, you don't have to" Did I: A. say, "No no worries", walk up anyway... now feeling awkward because I feel it's unwanted. B. say. "SEE YA!!" Drive off. You forgot option C.: "No, I know I don't have to, but I was brought up to treat a lady like a lady. So whether I have to or not, doesn't matter. It's the right thing to do." Then you walk her to the door, stand about a yard behind her when she opens it, and just say, "goodnight, sleep well." Smile, and leave. The next time you take her home, she'll know this is what you do, this is how you are, she'll invite you in for coffee...... and the next thing we know, it's silver-embossed wedding invitations from pizzaman! (sorry, no children.)

Ruby Slippers Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 The women are making the mistake. They should say, "Why, thank you," and graciously accept. Still, if I were in your place, I'd saying something like, "I want to" and do it anyway.
Moonstruck Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 I don't think of walking to the door as a big deal. You could say "I want to" in response, and if they say no again, then just drop it. I can see how walking to the door can create an awkward moment of fumbling for keys and wondering whether the guy is expecting to be asked in.
Twenty-ten Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 She may be trying to be polite just like she may be trying to get rid of you by that point. The only time I have ever said to a guy "oh no that's ok you don't have to walk me home" was when I wanted to get the hell away form his presence and just wanted the night to end, otherwise I'd never not let a guy I like walk me home.
Hot Carl Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 I'd say "this is nothing. If I were a real gentleman I'd walk you all the way to your bedroom door."
EYECANDY000 Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 A for sure B is just funny i think people say that because they dont want to make the other person feel like they are going out of their way.
TaraMaiden Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 I'd say "this is nothing. If I were a real gentleman I'd walk you all the way to your bedroom door." Yes.... you would say that....... Trouble is, as a 'real gentleman', would you stop outside it?
Hot Carl Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Yes.... you would say that....... Trouble is, as a 'real gentleman', would you stop outside it? Once you get that far, you might as well make sure she gets safely tucked in. It would be terrible to find out there was a monster waiting there for her under her bed and you didn't go the extra distance to fight it off.
TaraMaiden Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Of course, silly me.... And what bed-time story would you read her.....? Goldilocks & The three bears? The three Billy-goats Gruff? The three little pigs? (Do all good things come in threes.......?)
marsle85 Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 always always always A! I think women feel pressured not to be too "high maintenance"...but always prefer A.
