I finally answered the phone when he called

Sorry if this is long. After 9 missed calls in the past two days I figured I might as well answer, otherwise he would burn my phone up all day again. I told him I didn't have anything to say to him, and he launched into a tirade about how our relationship died years ago and it was all my fault. He accused me of not wanting to be around him for two years and I had to remind him that it was his choice to stop bathing and let his apartment get into a state as bad as anything I've ever seen on that tv show "Hoarders." That I begged him at that time to get off his butt and away from the video games and do something with his life other than drink every day away, and he refused. I told him the only way I could deal with that at all was to not see it, so I pulled back. He said he was forced to find someone else. I said nothing. He then said it's my fault that he's about to be homeless again, then he brought up some things that "bothered him" that I had supposely done to him that had never even happened. I told him he's hallucinating.

By that time, I had listened long enough. I told him I take full blame for the breakup since he has to have someone to pin it on, and that there's only one reason I answered the phone and that was to make it loud and clear that he is to never contact me again. He hung up on me.

Do I dare hope that it's the last I'll hear from him? I can honestly say there's not one speck of sadness left in me; he killed that. I won't even pity him because that's what he wants. I just want him to leave me alone.

I'm changing my cell number, but I can't change my work number. I have caller ID there though, so I just won't answer if he calls. In the past while we were still together and he got worked up like this he was very unpredictable, so I'm taking no chances. I have pepper spray.

Yeah, this guy has a *lot* of issues. Issues that he can deal with on his *own* now, right? :) I also say block his number. In fact, I'd block him on everything you have - email, IM, *everything*... :/
