PJKino Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 in a rut? What happened there? If its new and fresh then you probably need sometime to heal you don't want to be full of hate and ready to date. otherwise, you should get off your butt and keeping doing stuff that makes you happy till you feel like you can emerge from your hole. Rut meaning i just cant seem to muster any confidecne towards the female gender..When youve had no sucess with women though kinda hard to have any confidence Im scared to approach becasue im pretty sure ill get rejected
troggleputty Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Yup!! Last night was the first night I had been out to a club in a very long time, it was a supper club so dinner place first then turns into club after 11pm. It was an ex coworker's birthday party and I went without my guy. The place was rammed and though it was predominantly people in their 20s and early thirties, (I am late 30's) I was shocked at how many guys were trying to pick me up. I look ok for a late 30's girl, but I wouldn't say I look better than some of those 20 yr old women in that club yet it didn't stop men of all ages from trying to chat me up and pick me up. If I was dancing some guy would come up and try to dance with me, if I went to the bathroom (did the ol'walk of shame past the bar) guys trying to grab my hand and talk to me. I mean it was shocking!! "Shocking"? Really? I presume you have a vagina, don't you? What else do you think might be required?
troggleputty Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Well i dont have the balls to approach every women in a club and get rejected by 50 and hope the 51st is into me.. Well maybe that's because you weren't raised in a convenience store and used to facing down shotgun-wielding thugs on a weekly basis? That kind of background puts the hair on someone's chest really quickly. After that, approaching girls in bars is a snap.
troggleputty Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 what does mean "getting a woman" what are you trying to get her to do? Why so you can discuss 401(k) investment options with her, of course.
Woggle Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 90% of success with women is attitude and demeanor. if you have tha right demeanor you have women coming up to you which I have. It doesn't matter to them that I am married and do not cheat and in fact it entices them even more.
Twenty-ten Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 "Shocking"? Really? I presume you have a vagina, don't you? What else do you think might be required? How insulting! If all that is required is a "vagina" to get a man then why do so many people have problems meeting others?
troggleputty Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 How insulting! If all that is required is a "vagina" to get a man then why do so many people have problems meeting others? People with vaginas don't have any problems meeting members of the opposite sex. Your story is a prime example of exactly that phenomenon. When you went out, all the guys were hitting on you because you were by yourself and looked reasonably friendly. You didn't have to do anything. In contrast, how many girls did you see hitting on men?
Woggle Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 How insulting! If all that is required is a "vagina" to get a man then why do so many people have problems meeting others? Women want what they can't have so while women can get plenty of men they are never happy with the ones they can get. It is the one they can't get that they want to chase and when they do get him they don't want him anymore.

Just look at them with a faint smirk and imagine that you're undressing them in your mind while you look at them. They all seem to love that--knowing that you're raping them in your mind.

They think I want them while I am saying thank god to myself that I don't go home her.

I've said this to you before when you've made this type of sweeping generalization comment and I will say it again:
sweetjasmine Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 How insulting! If all that is required is a "vagina" to get a man then why do so many people have problems meeting others? Didn't you hear? All you have to do is spread your legs, and *poof*, instant relationship! Doesn't even matter if you're 50 years old and are overweight by 200 pounds. Guys will be all over you.
Lights Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Expecting women to hit on men is gay. Flirting with the opposite sex is considered gay now? Now I've heard it all...

Doesn't even matter if you're 50 years old and are overweight by 200 pounds. Guys will be all over you. I guess I missed the memo, but now that I know I kind of wish my vagina was on my face. It would save a lot of hassles.
St. Nick Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 People with vaginas don't have any problems meeting members of the opposite sex. Your story is a prime example of exactly that phenomenon. It is the one they can't get that they want to chase and when they do get him they don't want him anymore. True again! Unfortunately, it both these bits of wisdom will fall on deaf ears, I guarantee it.
Twenty-ten Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Flirting with the opposite sex is considered gay now? Now I've heard it all... Did I say flirting? No, I didn't. What I said was, in response to his question of how many women do you see hitting on men, was that expecting women to hit on men is gay.
Lights Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Did I say flirting? No, I didn't. What I said was, in response to his question of how many women do you see hitting on men, was that expecting women to hit on men is gay. Must be a dialect difference then; where I'm from the phrase "hitting on" usually refers to attempts at flirting or picking someone up. If it's happening between members of the opposite sex, it by definition isn't gay.
Twenty-ten Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Universally "hitting on" means trying to pick someone up. In other words doing the chasing. Flirting is what women do to let men know they want to be picked up. Flirting is also what men do to signal they want to pick a woman up. Either way it is the man who is trying to pick up, as men are naturally the pursuers. Well they used to be maybe not so much today's men. But I beg to differ, there are tons of young men who still want to pursue and they do it. Then there are all the ones who make up a million and one excuses not to have to do it and complain they have a hard time meeting women. All in all women still expect to be pursued, if you fail to do that as a guy, then your chances of slim if you think you can wait around for women to pursue you, because most women don't. At least not the ones these guys would want to be with.

Being surrounded by cowardly, backward-minded women who aren't socially adept, brave, and modern enough to overtly approach a man and ask him out on the spot is light-years different from being a homosexual.

Nah, it makes it gay if you want a woman to act like a man. I'm not the one crying that I can't meet anyone, so really at the end of the day I don't care that much either way. But I think that those guys who sit around waiting for women to "man up" are going to end up with mostly nothing so might as well be gay, they will get more out of it.
start-fresh Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 That's why what I experience IS shocking, since all I read day and night on here is how difficult it is to meet people. It really isn't. You simply cannot compare men and women under the same 'people' in these scenarios. Loveshack mainly consists of men who can't meet women and women who are having issues with too many men that aren't good enough for them for whatever reason. I agree that most of these men (myself included most of the time) need to suck it up/man up, whatever you want to say. Just realize that 'people' don't have it as easy as you did when you went out. Attractive women: yes. Unattractive women and men: no. Do you think if I went out to the bar and walked by a group of women on my way to the bathroom that I would have women grabbing me to talk to them? I could see how it would be exhausting trying to fight off all the guys hitting on you, but just realize that your situation is unique to many other peoples'. And don't even deny you didn't get an ego boost from that night. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with you because of it. It is what it is.
homersheineken Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Loveshack mainly consists of men who can't meet women and women who are having issues with too many men that aren't good enough for them for whatever reason. Interesting! I'm wondering if we can get a poll to back this up???
Author Satisfaction Posted March 7, 2010 Author Posted March 7, 2010 How insulting! If all that is required is a "vagina" to get a man then why do so many people have problems meeting others? Again I am with you on this, that was the whole point of the thread!
Author Satisfaction Posted March 7, 2010 Author Posted March 7, 2010 Interesting! I'm wondering if we can get a poll to back this up??? I'd be interested to see the results of that. I'm willing to bet that Loveshack consists largely of people who have problems in their relationships and are actively looking for ways to cope with or find solutions to their problems.
