Im so numb to dating, because Im tired of getting hurt over and over what do I do?

You are welcome. Maybe you do need a break from dating, if you are tired... that suggests that a break is in order. As someone else said it is good to know what you want and to have standards - this can take time.

 

Personally my main thing is respect. I want to be respected, if a guy tries to treat me badly in some way I should just leave the situation, quickly. A guy can't mess me around if I'm not there...

 

It has taken me a while to learn that I deserve this basic thing. Just as any man I meet/date also deserves respect from me.

 

After my ex, I really looked at the situation, why I put up with it and I really started to build up my self-esteem and get my life back together. It isn't easy but it's worth it. Now I'm just living my life, doing my best and looking forward to the summer.

 

Oh and I meant to say that its ok to cry sometimes, if that's how you feel. Great thread topic!

Do you see where I'm going at? I discovered that everything boils down to my own insecurities and my thinking that I am not capable of loving and of receiving love. So I realized that subcounciously to a point I am the commitment -phobic becuase something on me thinks that I wont be able to do it and thus I have been attracting guys who are worse than me so I won't get to the part where I doubt myself and run away myself!

theres a lot of good advice on this thread. I am in your position too Alexandra. So even if you feel like you're alone, youre not because there are other women like me who are alone too. in our loneliness, we are all together in a messed up way, Thats the only condolence i can offer since i am just as confused as you are!
