TwilightSky Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I am bewildered by my situation, honestly. For those that haven't read my most recent thread, I am a 24 year-old virgin who has problems talking to women. I've further refined this concept, I think. I really have a hard time having a clear conversation with a woman. I will stutter due to my nervousness, make points that aren't really relevant to the conversation. I suppose I kind of do this in conversation with males as well but it isn't as...pronounced, I guess. Anyway, how would I go about combating this?
Odyssey Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 practise, practise... and pra.. (you get the idea). I remember talking to strangers helped me to get comfortable. Anyway it's a start. But i promise, it gets easier.
threebyfate Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I don't recall your background but bear in mind that women are only human, just like men. Shift your perception by talking to everyone and anyone, like Odyssey mentions. While you're honing your conversational skills, stay away from talking to women you're attracted to. Once you get comfortable with talking to strangers, then try talking to women you're either not attracted to, or moderately so. Hone that and next comes the women you're attracted to. Good luck!
alphamale Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Anyway, how would I go about combating this? this is very commom at 24, as u age you'll shed your shyness about talking to chicks
PJKino Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Im the same way but a few years older..I realize im not an attractive Man and gonna get rejected anyway though so why bother?
Author TwilightSky Posted March 3, 2010 Author Posted March 3, 2010 this is very commom at 24, as u age you'll shed your shyness about talking to chicks There are men that are older that have yet to shed said shyness. I just don't want to be at the "point of no return" as someone described in another thread. I mean, I want to change these patterns, but in the actual situations I freeze and become half brain dead.
TouchedByViolet Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I will echo what others have said, you need practice. If you lack the intuition for conversation you can only improve by practicing.
Author TwilightSky Posted March 3, 2010 Author Posted March 3, 2010 I see what you mean, I just don't know how to get rid of that fear so that I can begin those conversations. I don't know what is wrong with me.
