Sadbutrelieved Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 He had the nerve to come to my office and ask me if I'd give him an employment reference and left her standing in the hall. I felt like kicking him right in the nuts.
mimidarlin Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Really....he cheats and asks for an employment reference while leaving her outside? He does have cajones. What did you really say to him? "It isn't possible for me to give a positive reference for someone who lies and cheats".
Odyssey Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Sure...i'll be happy to give him a 'reference'. He didn't say positive reference right? lol. Only kidding. What happened, what did you say?
xoThatGirlxo Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 He had the nerve to come to my office and ask me if I'd give him an employment reference and left her standing in the hall. I felt like kicking him right in the nuts. Sure, do you want me to tell them how good of a liar you are??LOL

I felt like kicking him right in the nuts. That's extremely ****ty. Are you OK? I would kind of like to kick him in his vagina as well.
Rearden Metal Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Wow what a douchebag LOL. I'd have LOL'd in his face, and probably sprayed whatever was nearest at him (water bottle, Febreze, soda etc)
threebyfate Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Wow, just goes to prove he's a jackass extraordinaire! So what did you say? Hopefully something incredibly meaningful!
Ruby Slippers Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 You could sweetly say, "Sure, I'll give you a reference!" Then, when the prospective employer calls, act surprised that he would give them your number, then make them drag out of you the fact that he was the most irresponsible and useless employee you've ever had. "Frankly, I think he may have a SERIOUS learning impediment," you might say.
DenverBachelor Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Well, honey? Where's that reference you said you would write up for me? I don't have all week -- my new girlfriend needs some new shoes! Chop chop!
Author Sadbutrelieved Posted March 3, 2010 Author Posted March 3, 2010 I'm afraid I was too stunned to say much of anything to him. I laughed, then I stared at him until he left, which was only a few seconds. I wish I could have told him off. I felt like crap all night...got to get my positive attitude back today
Author Sadbutrelieved Posted March 4, 2010 Author Posted March 4, 2010 I left my cell off all day today and when I turned it on tonight I see I have two missed calls from his number and one from an unknown number. I'm afraid he's going to show up at my office again I'm rehearsing what I'll say if he does...how's this: "I'm not your GF anymore. I'd prefer it if you'd get the F out of here before I get stabby?" That might give him the satisfaction of knowing I care enough to still be angry though...what do you guys think? I have a problem with coming up with quick retorts that aren't either filled with obscenities or just plain pathetic. I don't want to cry but I might if I have to say more than a few words to him. I guess I could just pick up the phone and call security to have him removed. I'd hate to do that but it might send the right message. Oh, I'm a mess tonight...I wish he'd just leave me alone.

I'm not in any mood to be giving advice right now, but from my broken heart I don't know how you even had the courage not to hit him when he showed up at your job. I used to plan what I am going to say to my newly ex and it never had a good effect. It was so generic. I know how you feel cause you want to show that you don't want him but what if he wants you then what?
Author Sadbutrelieved Posted March 4, 2010 Author Posted March 4, 2010 I wouldn't take that lying sack of **** back if he was the last man left on earth. No, he doesn't want me...he probably wants a loan, a ride, or some other favor. I'm going to change my cell phone number. I can't block him on this phone, but I can change the number. I decided to just say no and point to the door if he shows up at my office again.
cdt76 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Just pick up the phone and call security. That sends the perfect message.
