Not the way I did it when I was in his boots, but in all fairness, it serves her right. I don't feel any sympathy for her.

The guy is horrible because he acted out of anger,

Sure he was angry, but it wasn't s spur of the moment thing, so that's not a rational argument, in my world.

There are several radio stations (or maybe it's syndicated or something) that have a segment where the hosts call up a girl or guy (usually guy though, I don't think I've ever heard one with a girl) who their SO thinks is cheating, and pretends to be a flower delivery person, a VD clinic, whatever, to get the person to admit to cheating on air, while the SO listens.

Edit: to be more clear: I've only ever heard a woman having the radio station call her (cheating) b/f up.

Why do people keep insisting it would be different if it were the other way around?

Because it would be different. Many women just don't like seeing a sister be held accountable for her actions and many probably think there was nothing wrong with what she did. Gender certainly is an issue in this case.

Yes it is bloodthirsty revenge but maybe people would treat each other better if this happened more often.

Doubtful. If the history of the world is any indication, violence and nastiness (in this case) only begets more of the same.

Boy was that brutal, tough to listen too even. I don't know why she didn't hang up the phone.

Not in THIS case. 90% of my close friends are men and I have no love-loss for "sisters."

That is about as logical as going to war to instill peace.

I give up - there is no reasoning with you.

I am no big warmonger but sometimes there is no other choice. When people who are wronged stand up for themselves and do it harshly it sends a message that they won't take it anymore.

Maybe gender does not matter to you but in most cases it does to women and if things were reversed they would be cheering her on.

Have to agree with this...;)

I haven't read the whole thread.. but there are lots of prank calls like this one.. which are not 'real'...

I don't believe this... I doubt the radio hosts would 'laugh' like they did... both at the girl AND that azz...

I just don't buy it.. First ... no woman would stay on line with this kind of ridiculously idiots that these guys were..

Come on people.. this is not real... I have heard many many 'prank calls' like this one.. and they were 'scripted'...

I laughed a little when she started crying... And if it WERE a girl dumping the guy not one of the females here would have called her evil or classless.

To all the people saying what he did was wrong let me ask you this......do you think she will cheat again? uh no

You know why they say cheaters always cheat agains? Because we let them get away with it. This low class chick will have to face up to her actions and I can pretty much guarantee that in her next relationship she won't be pulling the "he's just a friend line".

Good for the bf

I agree with what he did but she will cheat again. She will see herself as the victim and there will be a chorus of women treating her as such and saying you go girl.

As a woman, I laughed through the whole thing. If this is real, I think it was deserved. No one deserves to be cheated on. I actually caught an ex cheating on me and it was the most painful thing ever.

She didn't have any respect for him or the relationship so why should he? Yes, two wrongs don't make a right, but eh who cares. This will make her think twice the next time she decides to cheat on someone else.

Of course she will cheat again.

She's not sorry she cheated, she's sorry she got caught.

The only lesson she is going to learn is to be more careful and cover her tracks better the next time.

I think it was scripted also.

Wow are you serious? If so then it might be better to become more educated. In general those that are only sorry they got caught cheating haven't learned anything at all. They would just become better liars and way more secretive than last time. She will cheat another regardless because there is no actual remorse but fake tears.

As for the guy, he's still as trashy as she is. Both of them are people I wouldn't talk to.

People are less likely to commit the same act if there are consequences, and what she went through is more of a consequence then the bulk majority of cheating women. Most women that cheat get the sympathy card, they blame it on the man claiming he didn't meet "on of their needs". Public humiliation is a great way ensuring that person will think twice next time. Sorry if my opinion doesn't agree with your education.

Oh and at least be honest, the only reason you call the guy trashy is because you are pissed that he didn't let the girl get away with like every other guy. What should he have done? Kept it a secret and let her tell everyone they are breaking up because of mutual differences.

What this boils down to is that women don't like when men play just as dirty as they do. Sometimes a man has no choice if he wants to keep his self respect.

Oh, yeah, this gal received MUCH more of a consequence than if he had just quietly moved her out and not told anyone why. Letting her flounder around in the bed she made for herself on air was a MUCH more effective "punishment" for her bad behavior. He's rid of her AND she was humiliated publicly.

If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen - or maybe I should say "bedroom with guys other than your man."

It is scripted. The FCC doesnt allow radio hosts to put callers on the air without telling them they are on the air first, so it is fake. But this bit used to be real before the rules came into place. If this woman humiliated me the way she did this guy, I'd sure as hell try to humiliate her as bad as possible just to alleviate some of the heartbreak that I'd have to endure.

Although if she cheated on me the first time, I would have bailed on her in the first place...guy was a classic doormat.

As much as we butt heads at least you don't seem to have double standards when it comes to this stuff.

I refuse to allow the awful men who have predated on me in the past to change me as a person. I'm not going to go about viewing all men through the 5h!t colored glasses some are unable to remove. All that would serve to accomplish would be to make myself miserable. THAT is where you and I "butt heads."

I kinda giggled at one part cos she thought the guy was proposing.

I could be mistaken since i listened to it a few days ago, but i thought the first thing he did after calling her was telling her she was live on the air? Either way i dont have any sympathy for her. She cheated on him, thought he was about to propose to her, and continued cheating on him.

They DID tell her she was live on the air before they engaged her in any conversation.

I couldn't find the relevant verbiage on the FCC site, but did find a radio station's guide for their broadcasters, based on FCC rules.

Before you either record or broadcast any telephone conversation or taped interview, you must clearly notify the other party and receive that party's permission to tape and/or broadcast the conversation. The only exception is during a live, discussion/call-in program where it can be presumed that the caller is aware that he or she is likely to be on the air. The announcer is still responsible for the content of these conversations. Obscenities or calls to action made by callers or interviewees that are broadcasted will count as a strike on the announcer.

Also, some verbiage about defamation of character and slander:

Slander is "communication which exposes a person to hatred, ridicule or contempt, lowers him in the esteem of his fellows, causes him to be shunned, or injures him in his business or calling." The rule of thumb for this one is that whatever you say about someone had better be true and absolutely provable. As well, the person you’re mentioning must be a public figure who is fair game for such commentary.

Hope everything worked out :)
