threebyfate Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 it means the good guys are confident, tall, handsome and have well paying jobs The above post got me thinking. So here's a questionnaire for the ladies, for your last five or fewer relationships, since not everyone has had five or more relationships. Do not include dating or FWBs. This includes marriages. Number of relationships you're discussing in your post: 5 albeit I've had far more than that, between LTRs, STRs and marriages. Was he confident? Four were confident, one wasn't always, in that sometimes he was and sometimes he wasn't. How tall was he? 2 were 6'3"+, 2 were 6'+, another was 5'6"+. Who was better looking? About par. Who made more, him or you? One made more than I did and the other four, pretty close or less.
CarrieT Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Number of relationships you're discussing in your post: Four Was he confident? Three were, one definitely was not. How tall was he? All were between 5'7" and 5'10" Who was better looking? I had one that was gorgeous, the rest were mediocre to plain. Who made more, him or you? For three, we made about the same and for one, I definitely made more (the one who was not confident and very plain looking).

You're applying a methodology to confirm or infirm some of the leading ideas people have about dating I have been in 4 "serious" relationships in total (Where there was a commitment to be together). Was he confident? No, yes, too much, yes and no (depends on the area). How tall was he 5'9, 6', 6', 6'2 Who was better looking? Current, number 2, number 1 and then number 3.(All but number three I'd consider to be hotties... Number 3 made up for lack of looks with overconfidence). Who made more? me, him (by a small margin), him, him (please note I was, up until last month, a PhD student so, really, I had no income.)
shadowplay Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 (edited) Number of relationships you're discussing in your post: 4 Was he confident? one is confident (5'10" guy), two were in-between (6'2" guy and 5'7" guy), one wasn't confident (5'11" guy) How tall was he? 5'10", 6'2", 5'11", 5'7" Who was better looking? 6'2" guy was moderately cute (let's say a 7), the others ranged from 5 to 6. Author threebyfate Posted February 25, 2010 Author Posted February 25, 2010 Oh darn Ladies, the question of who was better looking, was intended as a comparative to yourself. Can you plse amend your posts?
Star Gazer Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Number of relationships you're discussing in your post: 5, but like you I've had far more than that, between LTRs, STRs. Was he confident? Yes, appeared to be but probably wasn't, yes, appeared to be but probably wasn't, yes. How tall was he:6'3.5'', 6'1'', 5'11'', 6'0'', 6'1'' Who was better looking?Even, even, even, me, even. Who made more?He does, I did, I did, I did, he did.
shadowplay Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 (edited) Oh darn Ladies, the question of who was better looking, was intended as a comparative to yourself. Can you plse amend your posts? Ha. At the risk of being immodest, I'm better looking than all of them. But three out of four were more confident than I am. Edited February 25, 2010 by shadowplay

JessaL Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 (edited) The above post got me thinking. So here's a questionnaire for the ladies, for your last five or fewer relationships, since not everyone has had five or more relationships. Do not include dating or FWBs. This includes marriages. Number of relationships you're discussing in your post: 5 Was he confident? Current one is confident; the other 4 were not How tall was he? Not sure exactly, but do have a rough estimate. 2 were about 5'7" (give or take an inch); 2 were 5'10"; current one claims he is 5'9" or 5'10", but he's definitely lying. He has to be about 5'6", maaaaybe 5'7" as a stretch. I am 5'4" Who was better looking? First 2 relationships referenced in this post I was way better looking; 3rd relationship referenced, he was way better looking; 4th R referenced, I was slightly better looking to way better looking, depending on your preference; 5th R it's hard to say. Probably he was better looking/about par if he were 5 years younger (this is based on pictures I've seen). As it is, I'm slightly better looking, or we're on par. Who made more, him or you? First 4 Rs I made more; this R he makes more, though this will most likely change in the future. Edited February 25, 2010 by JessaL
Author threebyfate Posted February 25, 2010 Author Posted February 25, 2010 Thanks to everyone who've participated. I'll be posting stats later. Amended questionnaire: Number of relationships you're discussing in your post: Was he confident? How tall was he (plse be specific about height)? Who was better looking, you or the man? Who made more, him or you?
sally4sara Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 #1 First husband; he was generally confident. An athlete growing up so he was comfortable in his skin and had always had a GF or at least someone wanting to be his GF prior to our relationship. He made less than I and this carried through the relationship entirely. He was 6'. We were equally attractive. #2 He was confident outwardly but constantly second guessing himself. We made about the same. He was 6'4". I was a bit more attractive than he. #3 He was fake confident (hyper cocky) very quickly once we were seriously dating, but in reality very insecure. He made a little more than I. He was 5'5". We were equally attractive. #4 He was not lacking in confidence in the traditional respect, but was very reserved and hesitant to try new (non sexual ) things. He made a good bit more than I but not a whole lot. He was about 5'11". I was a bit more attractive than he. #5 Current relationship. Yes he is confident with people and never had trouble getting dates. He made much much less than I did when we first started dating. He is 6ft. I would say we are equally attractive.

Can you plse amend your posts? better looking? about equal (we're both known as "cuties"), him (he was stunning!), me (i think), him (he's such a hottie!). hmmm... Perhaps I'm superficial? Author threebyfate Posted February 25, 2010 Author Posted February 25, 2010 Kamille, it's all about personal preferences. If you consider every one of these questions, they're all superficial. If people are honest, it takes way, way more than just these questions to make a relationship. Thanks everyone, who've participated so far. I'm still awaiting clarification from one member about one question but the statistics still hold, since they're based on percentages, in reference to the number of relationships that are being tallied, per question. Confidence: Yes, he was confident: 59% He was confident sometimes: 12% No, he wasn't confident: 29% Height: 6' and over: 44% 5'7" - under 6': 47% Under 5'7": 9% Looks: He was better looking: 13% She was better looking: 40% Par: 47% Income: He made more: 26% She made more: 41% Par: 32% If anyone else would like to participate, plse do.
