Chi NZ Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 and she contacted me to say Happy Bday, she had recently said she would not do this, and now I'm in turmoil again. It's funny how the littlest things said can mean so much, just need some support here as I feel down and out once again, just as I was getting to a place where daily life was livable again. Don't get me wrong I love that she did say Happy Bday, but on the other hand I have taken 10 steps back Why would she say she would'nt and then contact me anyway ?
drew86 Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Happy birthday! I know how ****ty that feels, it kinda knocks the wind out of you... Keep your chin up
rand0m Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Because you meant/mean a lot to her. Nobody just forgets about someone they were once in love with that easily (unless infidelity was involved, then a lot of people make themselves forget). Just brush it off. Don't even think about it. Means nothing in the long run.
Odyssey Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 it's nothing... i wouldn't read too much into it. ...oh happy birthday man [raises a beer to ya]!
paleblue Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 she prob said that because she feltbad about saying she wouldnt. now she thinks -hey ex bf look at me im not such a bad person anymore... seeee i wished you happy birthday. dont read into it. it doesnt mean anything. she is just trying to make herself feel better while she screws with your head.
Author Chi NZ Posted February 26, 2010 Author Posted February 26, 2010 Thanks for getting me back on track guys, as always much appreciated. I don't think she's messing with my head, by nature she is a very loving, caring person. My problem is that I keep reading the Second Chances forum I hope there is reconciliation down the road for us, but I won't let that hope for reconciliation rule or become a dominant part of my daily life.
Author Chi NZ Posted February 26, 2010 Author Posted February 26, 2010 Wow, so about an hour after I get home from work today, my ex's parents called saying they tried calling me on Wednesday to wish me Happy Bday. Small talk ensued and it was nice. I really did appreciate them doing this, although I have to be honest, I was a bit awestruck by the sentiment and my mind started to tick over again with 'what if's' and 'should I's'. I mean just WOW!
HombreSincero Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Does her parents know that you guys are no longer together. If not, I guess it's time that they do. If yes, are you and her parents really that close that they would call you anyways?
