9Lives Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 My ex and I have not been talking. We have had a off and on relationship for a while now. We tried once again in December and it fell apart in January. He contacted me in Feb to get his washer and dryer then two days later asked me to help his mom and dad find a house because they had been foreclosed on. Of course I said yes I would since I still care for my ex. I met his parents a long time ago so they remembered me. His mom is so so sweet. She calls me her daughter and it melts my heart. I cried today because I really wanted to be her daughter in law. Anyway, he was there helping pack up the truck. We talked and what not. When his friends come around, we dont really talk at all. It is very weird. I can tell that he has moved on but thought it was weird he wanted me to help his mom find somewhere else to stay. I try to think of it as business cause it is but I still wish we could get back together. I wont bring it up. Im just sharing this with you all. I had to quit another organization that we both belong to cause it is just to painful to be around him and see other chicks talking to him and what not. I guess once I get his parents in the house and settle, it is curtains for good.... Cant make a person love you. I wish that he really didnt ask me to help. His mom reminds me of my own mom. My mom is not here anymore(murdered). Just venting I guess

Maybe he just knows how important his mom is to you, and that's why he asked you to help her? Just because he won't be in your life anymore, doesn't mean she can't be.. I hope you two (his mom and you) stay intouch.. Unless it's too painful for you..? And, I'm sorry that things didn't work out between you and him. HIS loss! Remember that.

(I'm being facetious) I tried to put myself in your position, with the information presented, and I gotta say that it was mighty admirable of you to do so. Personally if my ex, ever asked me to do such a thing, I'd be offended and probably slam the door shut on her. Why? Because the day you rejected me was the day you rejected all of me. My bad habits, what I've done for you, and what I couldn't have done for you. However, I understand if you a person that provides a professional service of some sort, in which case, it totally becomes a business transaction. I'd treat it as such. "Here's my service, here's what you get for this service, and this is the deliverable". You don't get any extra favors, regardless. If not, he's just using you. PLUS, you have to ask yourself this, can you maintain a friendship with his mom, without any reference to him. Be honest.

Well honestly, I am doing this because it is hard for me to be mean to his mom. I really like his mom. But again Im not going thru the back door to get to the front door. It is business for the most part but I am partial a little to him and his mom. Im gonna get it done and move on. he has been calling to chit chat a little and it is kinda weird to me. New experience here I guess. We will see.
