Anyone ever dated someone with the same name as your parents??

I hvae not, am not, and will not. But i did meet one nice girl once a few years ago that had the same name as my mum. All attraction and phwoa factor was immediately lost!

I'm just curious.....and if you did was it not really weird?!

I would never be able to date someone with the same name as my dad...it would freak me out beyond the telling of it. I did date a guy whose name is the same as my brother's...not sure why I didn't find it weird, but it lasted only for a month. Lesson learned.

I never have but it wouldn't bother me as my dad's first name is pretty common.

But get this: my boyfriend's mother "Irene" has two brothers, and they both married women named "Irene"!

Luckily my father's name is not common, and certainly not popular for anyone under the age of 50-ish, so no. Never have. Never even met someone with his first name.

No but I was with someone for 5 years almost with the same name as my brother. It was more just a pain to explain to people which one I was talking about. :p

No, that would be too close for comfort.

My ex has the same name as a good friend who is the husband of another good friend. We used to each use "my" or "your", to differentiate. Now she uses "my" and I just use his name.

Haven't, but would have no problem with it at all. Now if she -looked- too much like my mother or sister, that would be a problem.

Well i think the majority rules that it's a no no. has not happened and is unlikely.

Some interesting stories tho! Thanks for sharing those!

Dated a girl who had the same name as my mom once. Didn't find it weird in the slightest. If this kind of thing freaks you, it's a sure sign of deeply rooted, unresolved mommy/daddy issues and a visit to the psychiatrist would be in order.
