chloe1408 Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 i bet you all think i'm mad but basically, i just want to know if its wrong that i have hope. im not sat at home moping over my ex, im going out seeing friends etc but i still miss him so much. To cut a long story short my ex left me 2 months ago for someone else after nearly a year and a half together. He said he still loves me but has moved on already. so i've been doing the whole NC thing and anyway i got a psychic reading done the other day and i asked something about my ex (sad i know) and it said that in two months the door for communication will open, he will distance himself from his new partner and that he still has strong feelings but may never let me know them. and everyone says that he'll be back. i've heard that it sometimes takes up to 4 months for people to realise the grass isnt greener. what do you think? am i completly insanse?!
MySweetie'sGone Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 I don't think you're insane at all (though i've never done a psychic reading) i think we all have some degree of hope. It just seems like it's impossible for this relationship, that we thought was so strong, to truly be over, you know? and I don't think hope is a bad thing, necessarily, especially if it helps you get through the day. I wouldn't wait around though...I'd try to keep living and moving forward, knowing in the back of my mind that there's always the chance that something will happen (and the chance it might not). Gradually we stop thinking about it so much. fake it til you make it (or so I've been told...)

Hi Chloe, I know how hard it is to let go of hope. I have no idea of whether your ex-bf will return but what's more important is that you gain inner strength and focus on yourself during this time. By doing this, you have strenghth in yourself that you will need to make the relationship work if he does come back as well as have strenghth in yourself and be moving on if he doesn't come back. It's a win/win proposition. Just be careful with the psychic readings as they can lead to hanging onto hope and waiting for predictions to happen that may never manifest. What the psychic says is going on and will happen may become part of your reality even if its completely off. Because the psychic says there will be another chance in two months, which is what you want to hear, can lead to an increase in calls to the psychic for assurance that this will happen. Calling psychics is a way of keeping the relationship going in your mind and hanging onto hope. It's better to trust your own instincts and intuition. Some people who call during these vulnerable times become addicted to calling psychics. Calling serves as a form of substitute for contact with the ex. Hang in there!! Stay strong!!

Actually all of my exes have come back at some time or another (except for this recent one. he's hot and cold too). One came back after 2 years...but now I don't want him. They tend to come back...but it's NEVER on the timeline we want and by the time they do it's usually too late. That's why reconciliations are few and far between...either the dumper just doesn't come back...or by the time they do the dumpee is no longer interested.

Tell you what, give me 50 Quid, you can send it via paypal but sorry no credit card accepted, and let Grayclouds polish his crystal ball and summon up his soothsayer skills and do a inter-cosmic telekinetic internet inquirer into the future and I too will tell you want you want to hear. iheartboobs Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Hope's fine, but it's like alcohol; a little in moderation is good for you, but too much will kill you. So as long as it helps you get through the day, that's cool, but when it starts to interfere with reality, that's a problem. So it's all well and good to hope your ex is going to call you, but it becomes detrimental when you stop going out with friends or on dates because you're hoping your ex will call. So feel free to hope, pray, or whatever that your ex will come back, just don't keep from moving on or stop any part of your life because of it.
