Richard_87 Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 Hi all I do a lot of sport, so Im quite fit, I also cycle a lot. Ive got good leg muscles but I seem to have no way of strengthening my arm muscles, so they are weedy and look really out of proportion... I bought some weights yesterday, Im tired of wearing long sleeve shirts and want to build up the muscle in my biceps and forearms.. Ive been doing bicep curls. Anyone know if this is all suitable, are there any other exercises? Also how many reps should I be doing (5kg weight) I am sixteen...
cdn Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 5kg is quite light. I suggest you use a weight that will take you to failure (i.e., inability to perform the movement with correct form) in about 10-12 reps. Specific exercises you might want to consider include: push-ups chin ups shoulder press bench press biceps curl You can do all of these at home with minimal equipment. I recommend you get a copy of the Firefighters Workout book which gives an excellent overview of what works (and what doesn't) as well as several training routines. Good luck to you!
