DenverBachelor Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 (edited) What's a light bulb relationship? Most light bulbs last between 7,500 and 15,000 hours. That's between a year and two years. A light bulb relationship is comforting, because every time you need some light, you just flip a switch and you have light. Light bulbs never burn out when it is convenient for us. When you least expect it, one day you go to turn on the switch and POP, the light just goes out. Over a year with that light bulb and one day it just decides to abandon you. No longer are you bathed in its light -- but now you are left in the dark as to what happened. If you touch the light bulb too quickly after it burns out, you get burnt. You have to wait until it cools off until you can unscrew it and toss it in the trash. No burial, no ceremony -- just toss that piece of **** right into the trash and go straight out to Walmart and find a new light bulb that will treat you better. Get one of those cool, energy efficient bulbs that last 3-5 times longer and save you money over the course of its lifetime. Same amount of light for far cheaper. This is a light bulb relationship. Somewhere -- sometime, when we least expect it, that light bulb is going to blow and we'll be left standing in the pitch black cursing. Flip that switch as many times as you want, that light bulb is never going to come back on. You need to accept that the light bulb is blown and toss it in the trash. Don't sleep with it, don't caress it, don't write it letters and certainly don't stalk it. You need to just let it go and accept that the light bulb no longer loves you enough to bathe you in its brilliant light. That light bulb has probably been thinking of blowing on you for weeks or months before it finally blew. Someone else was probably playing with the switch while you were out. Just accept it and move on and find a better bulb. One that will last and treat you with respect. One that will light up your life when you flip a switch. One that isn't just 99 cents from the Walmart light bulb bin. You need to upgrade and increase your standards and go with a CFL or LED bulb next time. This is a light bulb relationship. Boundary Problem Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Can't stand lightbulbs that don't want to commit. wish I was born in the 1800s when there were candles. Back then, men knew what to do in the bedroom. I think porn has ruined men. They are clueless in the bedroom.
Author DenverBachelor Posted February 18, 2010 Author Posted February 18, 2010 wish I was born in the 1800s when there were candles. . Candles are fickle. The slightest wind will blow it out. Likewise, it will just as easily burn your house down. Who wants to deal with a fickle psycho?

Author DenverBachelor Posted February 18, 2010 Author Posted February 18, 2010 I am still lighting matches for illumination...... getting fingers burned all over the place:eek:.... Need halogen bulb.. Halogen bulbs are high maintenance. If you're into high maintenance light bulbs, then by all means go get yourself a nice halogen. Handling precautions Any surface contamination, notably fingerprints, can damage the quartz envelope when it is heated. Contaminants will create a hot spot on the bulb surface when the bulb is turned on. This extreme, localized heat causes the quartz to change from its vitreous form into a weaker, crystalline form that leaks gas. This weakening may also cause the bulb to rapidly form a bubble, thereby weakening the bulb and leading to its failure or explosion, and creating a serious safety hazard. Consequently, manufacturers recommend that quartz lamps should be handled without touching the clear quartz, either by using a clean paper towel or carefully holding the porcelain base. If the quartz is contaminated in any way, it must be thoroughly cleaned with rubbing alcohol and dried before use.

Unless, of course, there's a problem with your wiring. Then you're looking at a lot of enquiries, quotes and cash to get it fixed.. x
GrayClouds Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Unless, of course, there's a problem with your wiring. Then you're looking at a lot of enquiries, quotes and cash to get it fixed.. x VERY GOOD. As they say love begins at home. No matter how much you spend on a new bulb if you have not put in the time and work to improve your wiring you still may not be very happy with any bulb. You end up being one of those people you always faulting the bulb when the problem is really yours.
