one goal Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Curious how much should a guy spend on an average first date?
caramel c Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 That all depends on what you have in mind for the date. Are you a dude who asked a girl out? We need to know more. There is a broad range when it comes to how much you'll expect to spend on a first date.

Ok, well it also depends on the area you live in as far as what the average price is for a meal. Since we are only talking about going out to eat, probably no less than $20 and could go up past $100 depending on if you are ordering drinks as well.

likestolaugh Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Your charm and essense should be enough. I think you overestimate our dear OP....
threebyfate Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Keep the price tag to fiscally responsible limits, whatever that might be, based on your income. Your budget should define the amount.
IrishCarBomb Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Curious how much should a guy spend on an average first date? If it's an "average" first date, I'd spend like $44.67. An "above average" date I'd spend probably about $98.22. A "below average" date I would probably charge for my services. And a "professional" date would probably cost me her hourly rate.
threebyfate Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 If it's an "average" first date, I'd spend like $44.67.So which meal costed the penny more? If it was the girl, would you be angry? Maybe that's just it. Maybe I misunderstood the OP and thought he meant paying for two, when he just meant paying for himself. Can you plse define which one it is, one goal?
The Paper Knight Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Curious how much should a guy spend on an average first date? not very much
IrishCarBomb Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 So which meal costed the penny more? If it was the girl, would you be angry? Oh my! Heaven's no! The girl is NOT allowed, by any means, to run up a higher bill than me. If her tab amounts to more than mine, I will politely excuse myself to "go to the bathroom" and then quickly dash for my car. I will then report my credit card stolen and call the police. When the police find my credit card in her purse (which I cleverly put in there earlier in the night), it's "Jail Time!" for "Miss. I-am-an-expensive-date!" Hope she likes munching carpet in women's prison! Whoa!!! But... I digress... The odd number arises from rounding off my tip, which is graded on a clear and specific analysis of the quality of service, which I also openly share with all of my romantic dates. They bow to my fantastic and perfect system. It honestly is a thing of beauty. Why don't women understand how awesome this system is? Why don't they return my phone calls? I bet it's because I'm under 5'9''.

Hopefully, one goal will learn something from this, for his own first date cost analysis.
Awesome Username Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Dont want to spend $100. If so I expect a blowjob then lol. What's terrible is that you're probably not even joking.
Lindarose84 Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Wow, this is probably one of the few areas where I'd admit that it sucks to be the guy since those first date expenses add up especially if you're going out on a bunch of them. Ultimately the money you spend is like an investment into a potential relationship. You don't want to be too risky and invest $$$ into something that's going to fizzle by the time the date's over. With that said, I tend to suggest to my dates that we go to moderately priced places so I feel comfortable knowing that if I can pay for the whole meal, he should be able to as well. Plus, if I were him and knew the date wasn't going anywhere, I'd know I'd feel comfortable losing my investment money since it wasn't a lot anyway. So if I had to give a price, I'd go for roughly $90 which should cover a decent meal for the two of you and a few drinks.
