i got this great exercise ball for christmas! so i play on it, exercise, fall off, etc...

well on new years i noticed this horride blue black bruise on the inside-back-of-my-knee. it look like i was mauled! I can't remember getting hit or doing anything to my leg. it doesn't really hurt either, not unless it is poked at. my bf said he plled his hamstring once and he had bruising similar to mine. And if you feel the area, there is this cord-like feeling thing, that you cannot feel on the other leg. So i am guessing something snapped, but what? and why didn't i feel it?

No clue.

If it hurts, I'd see a doctor.

If it doesn't hurt, I'd ignore it.

Even if it doesn't hurt, see a doctor. A bruise is internal bleeding, and I don't like the sound of "this cord-like feeling thing".

think this is what i pulled : cruciate ligament

Injury to a cruciate ligament may not cause pain. Rather, the person may hear a popping sound, and the leg may buckle when he or she tries to stand on it. To diagnose an injury, the doctor may perform several tests to see if the parts of the knee stay in proper position when pressure is applied in different directions. A thorough examination is essential to the diagnosis. An MRI is very accurate in detecting a complete tear, but arthroscopy may be the only reliable means of detecting a partial tear.

I would definitely see a doctor. My brother damaged his ACL (someone heavy fell on his knee during a game) and he ended up having surgery. The doctor told him that the blood supply is not good there in the back of the knee and so it did not repair itself (the way a ligament might somewhere else in your body where there is good blood flow).
