MysticalZ
For those going thru what I'm going thru: SILENT POWER VERSE In a bit of time I will soon smile And say u did me favours by teaching me denial Just around the corner I may just say your name And it won’t pull so hard at my heart’s string knowing you just weren’t okay In a bit of time I will face the day I wont sit and cry each time I wish that you had stayed In just a little while I may not even know your name For if you’re on my mind in a few years time I would go insane CHORUS So I call on my Silent Power And I claim all of my Strength And I ask the Angels for Sun-filled Showers To cleanse my soul again So I call on my Silent Power Just to pull me out of bed When our wishes had fallen from the Heaven’s above Where was your Love in the end? VERSE In a bit of time I will soon forget The light all around you on the day when we first met Just around the corner it may not hurt so bad Knowing the love we’d found was unlike we’d ever had In a bit of time I will face the day I wont sit and cry each time wishing that you had stayed In just a little while I may not even know your name For if you’re on my mind in a few years time I would surely go insane CHORUS So I call on my Silent Power And I claim all of my Strength And I ask the Angels for Sun-filled Showers To cleanse my soul again So I call on my Silent Power Just to get you out of my head When our wishes had fallen from the Heaven’s above Where was your Love in the end? BRIDGE TO END Not too long ago I used to look up to the stars Would whisper your name when I say My spirit is always with you Where ever on Earth you are. In a bit of time the light will shine from me When I can look back and smile Knowing our love wasn’t meant to be.

BadMan
Way to many words to be a hit. Good thoughts though.
reasontosigh
Two verses, chorus, bridge to end. Not all that many words, I don't think. If the music is just as good, it could indeed be a hit. Dave Matthews' "The Space Between" is a song with an awful lot of words to me - couldn't recite any of 'em back to you to save my life. And there's lots of long songs around, with or without a lot of lyrics. All depends on the finished product, I'd say.
dyermaker
Sometimes it's the act of writing a song that is meaningful, not neccesarily the putting it to music and selling it part.
reasontosigh
True indeed - just responding to BadMan's comment regarding hit potential.
MysticalZ
Dyermaker is correct - the music, the melody, the money is irrelevant... It's purpose is to share the feeling of Heartbreak and Silent Power with u all... To remember to grab the positives out of a negative situation by honoring the spirit... Badman, nice name - it gives me a little giggle... Fame and fortune means nothing compared to the value of ur soul... Agree? For your benefit, I hope so...

APEX PREDATOR
Hi all, I am new to this board, so I'm not sure if this song has already been posted. I'm currently going through a pretty bad break up as well, and this song somewhat helps me with coping with my emotional stress: Doing just fine - Boyz 2 Men There was a time when I thought life was over and out When you went away from me My dying heart made it hard to breathe Would sit in my room Because I didn't want to have to go out And see you walking by One look and I'd break right down and cry Now you say that you've made a big mistake Never meant to take your love away But you can save your tired apologies 'Cause it may seem hard to believe But.......... Chorus: I'm doin' just fine Getting along very well Without you in my life I don't need you in my life I'm doin' just fine Time made me stronger You're no longer on my mind You were my earth My number one priority I gave me love to only you Anything you'd ask of me I would do But somewhere down the road You felt a change in the weather And told me that you had to journey on A kiss in the wind and your love was gone Now you say you never meant to play your games Girl, don't you know it's far too late Because you let our love just fall apart You no longer have a heart Chorus When you said goodbye I felt so all alone There were times at night I couldn't sleep My heart was much to weak to make it on my own Baby after all the misery And pain you put me through So unfair to me girl You're no longer my world And I ain't missin' you at all Chorus
