Mustain2234 Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 (edited) I know from browsing these forums for over a year that many of you will be contacting your exes today. Or you'll come on here, post your stories, and hope someone will give justification for you contacting them. I'm realistic, and know that if I sit here and say "NC means NC, regardless of holiday," many will just push it off. This is because it's not what people want to hear and NC is the token response to any question concerning a second chance. Here is my plea to all of you -- of all days not to contact your ex, have this be the one. Aside from the anniversary of your break up, Valentines Day multiplies your fixation on someone. It's a day where even simple messages have a deeper meaning. Think about in these terms -- you text them something simple, perhaps "Hey, what's up?" Any other day it may not require much thought from the other person, but today it may as well say "Hey, what's up.....I feel so lonely today because it's Valentines Day. I hope you still love me, because you've been on my mind all day!" And yes, many of you are thinking such a response is what an ex feels every attempt of yours to contact them, regardless of the day. It's just that from my perspective the message is amplified today. You're surrounded by couples in love, celebrating with presents and chocolate, and all the while can't stop thinking about your ex -- so you attempt to be coy and contact them about something simple. Maybe you go right out and wish them a Happy Valentines Day. Whatever the method, resist the urge and know it won't help you in the long run. In fact, I'd say you'd be better off by ignoring them today. Ultimately, if you can't control your desire to contact an ex, at least wait until tomorrow. One day can't hurt.
