So about a week ago I went to office for my apartment complex to pick up a package, and to address a few mundane matters of no particular interest to anyone but myself. The package itself might have been interesting if it had contained something awesome like a complete suit that included a walking stick and top hat, or a set of antipersonnel fragmentation mines, but it was nothing worth writing about either.

What was worth writing about was the pair of ladies that was there before me, preventing me from discussing my petter matters with the office. One of them, a particularly attractive thing, looked my direction. I'm a little oblivious and poor at flirting, but I imagine a smile is a good way to gauge interest, so I caught eye-contact and flashed a smile. She cold shouldered me so hard I was encased in a block of ice for hours, waiting for a thaw.

While I was there in my block of ice, I had ample time to hear what they were discussing with the office. New residents. Both female. Looking for an apartment... with one bedroom.

2 females. 1 bedroom. That took me longer to work out than I'd care to admit. Regardless, I tried to flirt with one. At least I have a reasonable suspicion for why I got that cold shoulder.

Felt like sharing, because I thought it was funny.

You're as boring as I am - welcome!

Why stop at the walking stick and top hat? There should have been a pair of platform shoes with mini-fish tanks between the soles, a pink, purple, blue and lime green technicolor coat and some kind of feather for the hat...

playa.

The general amusement is all I was really going for, to be honest.

Oh no, I'll out-boring the crap out of you.

Challenge!

Indeed. I'm so much more boring than you, that after finishing a long winded explanation about something I don't realize you don't care about, I take a few moments to take stock of what I said to determine that I got the point across I wanted to. Realizing I did not, I attempt another futilely long explanation on the same thing you didn't care about the first time.

THEN, I wonder why you don't return my calls. Why won't you return my calls YA? WHYYYY?

This whole thread is pretty funny. Thought I would share.

That's confusing, maybe befuddling but not boring. Ha!!

I'm so boring that you'll probably respond to this post...

yeah he lost me there too..Tigers and Cinnamon?:D

I really thought your story was interesting Bejita! But then I'm genuinely curious about human nature. Also the way you told it was good, it was like I was reading a bit from a book, and any author worth their weight in salt would never write dull scenes if they could help it. And you, like a good author, took an otherwise normal everyday life situation and made it an interesting read.:o

Well, thank you. :o

That was generally what I was aiming for. Rather enjoy taking my otherwise dull life stories, and spicing them up with a healthy dose of purple prose. :)
