Need insight! Once a cheater always a cheater???

You've been with someone for five years and you feel like you "know them" only to find out they are not "sure" about settling down...no wait when they say they want to be with you but you find out they r leading someone else on. How can you forgive a person who you feel has betrayed your trust. He cheated and now you are wondering if its true what they say, "once a cheater always a cheater"???. Please help! Is it wrong to want to work things out am i setting my self up for failure???i initiated a renewal but im still scared to get my heart broken again. I cant take meeting the person that i never thought he was again! Please give me ur insight!!!

Hey Yeyo, I feel your pain, I was with someone who did it to me, I let them come back and they did it again, not saying everyone is the same, but my ex, she did it to me a couple of times (that I know about) she ended up walking out on me 4 times..

The girl who used me as a rebound dated a cheater... she dumped him.. rebounded. Dated him AGAIN... he cheated. Met new boyfriend... relationship for 4 years... for 2/4 years he cheated on her.

 

...she rebounded with me. (which hurt like hell when I found out)

 

...she is now supposedly engaged to cheater #2.

 

I hope she's happy.

 

I would say.. it varies from individual to individual... but victims of cheaters invest so much in the abuser... you're afraid to let go. The abuser KNOWS they have that power... they like that power... whether consciously or subconsciously... they ABUSE it.

Cheaters are yucky. I would never go back. You can't change the fundamental nature of someone...and integrity is one of the most important qualities in a woman for me...really, it's even an important quality I look for in all my friends...
