I am going to sign up for Match.com as the price isnt bad and i need to try something new. The free ones were a joke for me. What is better Eharmony or Match?

Neither of them are all that great so if I had to choose the better of the two evils, I'd go with Match.com. At least with them, you don't have to fill out a 500 question survey only for them to still mismatch you with someone who is nothing like your ideal mate and lives 2000 miles away from you.

I liked Match.com

Did you find someone?

I've done them both.. met my wife on match..

To me the biggest difference between the 2 of them is that with eharmony you cannot just contact who you want and they control who you are matched with.

On match you can decide yourself who is a good match to you and contact who you want.

I did eharmony for 6 months and every person I went out with was in no way at all a match to me and then after all our matches are closed out you sit there for up to two weeks till they match you up with someone else they feel you match with.

do match.com.. just remeber though that since you are incharge of the contacting that you have more rejection to deal with and your game needs to be sharpened to a fine point in order for it to work..

Humor is the biggest success in online dating.. you have to show a woman that you are fun and if she went out with you that she would have a blast because all the other guys she is speaking too will just be an okay date and you would be above that.

Is friend finder any good?

I did Match but never eHarmony. I had no luck with Match, a few first dates and that's it. Many of the guys just wanted sex and others weren't looking for a relationship.

I did Match, but have heard eHarmony is super strict. That stinks how they match people up. I wouldn't like that.

There are so many out there and its hard to find a good review becasue if the person met their wife..then its great..if they found no one...it sucks....AHHHHH i just wanna pick one...prob match...

Just remember to make your expectations realistic.

You still have to do most of the work and the webpage just gives you the venue and brings the people within your reach.

I met my current BF of 3 years on there

Neither, both are over priced and fraudulent. Try tangowire.com, great dating site

match.com is better because you pick instead of being assigned a person IMO.

Brady, you're too young to be doing match or EH.

Those particular sites cater to a bit of an older crowd.

What would you say is the "target age" for match...?

30 plus is the target market.

Interesting...so would you say that those in their 20's aren't really looking for real relationships? Just sex or short term flings? Or are they just not very serious about online dating?

I guess it could just be the attitude of younger online daters and not necessarily the service itself...

It's only what Match and E target. It has to do with being a paid service focusing on busy professionals, people with children, people that can't get out in the scene as much as younger people might have the opportunity for.

It's not that people in their 20's aren't looking for real relationships- just the assumption that established professionals would be more apt to pay for a dating service.

In the commercials- the actors are always 30-40 something.

In case you want to try EH, you can search for a promo code on the web and it usually gives you a cheaper deal.

I met my current bf on EH. However, he was one of two dates I had from that site. Did Match before that and had a number of first dates, but none led to a relationship. Luckily I don't have horror stories, as I ran an extreme filtering. Both services are designed to play the waiting/mind game, but still you get some initiative with Match. EH requires more patience, since you cannot search on your own.

"If anything works out, that is great; if not, we can still have a good conversation" is a good way to approach online dating. Finding a right person at the right time is difficult regardless of the venue you are using to meet the opposite sex. Just be careful of rebounders online, though.

Hmmm, I see what you're saying...and I've noticed the commercials too, and you're right about the age thing...all the testimonials seem to come from older couples...

But I think online dating has become mainstream enough that those in their 20's can have success...but it's just a matter of overcoming perceived attitudes of people in their 20's...guys just looking for a quick lay...women who still "don't know what they want"...the list could go on and on...

Oh, I agree with you!

I just know Match and E target a bit of an older audience.

Friend Finder is garbage. 75% of the women on there are straight up prostitutes.

Eharmony is a Christian site which parades itself as a mainstream site. They'll match you with women that don't live anywhere near you. I personally could care less who my match is since I'm just gonna troll the photos first anyway. Yeah, that's right I'm shallow. NO FATTIES!!!!!!!!!

Don't even get me started on Match.
