Hopeful30 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 I have always been the youngest of the group; whether it be friends, my classmates, or relationships. I am always the youngest out of everyone. I tend to enjoy older crowds. Next week I am going to meet the friends of this guy I am seeing, who is 8 years my senior. I am exited, yet nervous. I have a friend who was in the same situation, and told me she felt very uncomfortable being the youngest of all her boyfriends friends, so she preferred not to socialize with them. This is a bit odd, because she is very mature. Do men treat younger women as inferior or less intelligent? Perhaps even less serious about relationships? Or was it my friend's uneasiness? What should I expect next week? P.S I am 23 he is 31.
greatgirlfriend Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 It depends. When I was that age I dated men in their 30's. A few I'm sure thought I was a ditz but others thought it was cool I was smart. Men in general tend to like younger women so you should be fine.
NotNow Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 It will only be awkward if you make it awkward.

For guys in their early 30's I wouldn't worry about it - however those that do at that age are even worse when they hit their 50's!
BobSacamento Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Why are you hanging out with balding 31 year olds? They will probably make fun of you for not knowing all their Cheers references. But when they do just respond with a "Thanks Grandpa". Sounds like a fun night to be totally honest.

Probably because they don't let their pants sag, can speak with proper grammar and were getting some when you were still watching Bob the Builder... That and a little class and appreciation can go a long way with a classy, appreciative woman whom Hopeful30 appears to be. Edited February 13, 2010 by You'reasian
