hotgurl Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 He sent early Valentines flowers to me at work. Surprised the heck out of me. we are going through a bathroom remodel that has not gone great and is over budget and we are just stressed. So with the extra money out and valentines day being on Sunday I figured we would do something very low key. But today I get a bouquet of my favorite flowers Lillies and gerber daisies.
whichwayisup Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 That's so cool of your H to send you flowers. MMM, someone's gonna get head tonight! Should help with the stress....
Disintegration Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 I'm so happy for you! I bet all of your female coworkers were in admiration of you. I love flowers and the selection your husband picked out are fabulous! Happy early v-day to you!
oxfordsocks Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 i do believe it is those things that keep the mortar in a marriage strong. Your lucky to have him do that.
LakesideDream Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 hotgurl, cherish it. Above all let your H know how you felt when you saw your flowers. He sounds like a keeper.
deux ex machina Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 That's so thoughtful and sweet. I love that you didn't expect it at all, and that he remembered what flowers are your favorites. Happy Valentine weekend!
Star Gazer Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I got early flowers yesterday too! And a gift certificate for my favorite day spa arrived today! Some of us have it really good.

Women and Flowers , never fails . I just want to comment that I love your screen name as Stargazer is my fave lily (and yes, I got stargazer yesterday from my hubby too). What's touching is that my husband just told me that he arranged the flowers himself (and he's a typical engineer/math type, quite artistically challenged so it's quite a feat for him to put a really nice arrangement together ). And the thought of him arranging flowers makes me feel warm & fuzzy, more than the flowers themselves
Author hotgurl Posted February 15, 2010 Author Posted February 15, 2010 I am so lucky. when I got home he had bought some roses for our daughter as well. and some candy. We had a laid back weekend. We decided to not go out to dinner. Instead we will have a celebatory dinner when the remodel is done.

Did virtually the same for my wife. Me? I didn't even get a card. Sorry for being a downer on such an upbeat thread. I didn't let on that it bothered me, which may have been a mistake. I think I'll ask her tonight what the deal is.

I got my wife roses and those personalized MM's with your picture on them and had my Son's face put on the MM's with the saying "I Love Mom" and a bear.. I also had a live rose plant and teddy bear sent her from my son and then a subscription to her favorite bird magazine. I got a card, dinner, another card and some loving...

GorillaTheater Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Well, I did get some lovin' ... Oh well. VD is just another Hallmark conspiracy, anyways.
quankanne Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I let him eat the bulk of the cheesecake we got for V.D.! haven't really thought about the holiday other than the cheesecake, I've had some kind of respiratory crud since the beginning of the year, and he's just been the best about taking care of me and handing out the hugs. Not bad for being a whiny kid, eh?

I promised him that I will bake a cake for his birthday (which is 1.5 months away). I never bake a cake before and I'm not very domesticated unfortunately. I'm looking up how to make Grand Marnier Souffle online and will practice a few times before surprise him with it . Hope it's as good as the one we had at our fave restaurant.
