araven Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Lately when my bf and I videochat together, he's not very talkative. He always seems distracted. This is ok when I'm doing other things too, but once in awhile I wish he'd be a little bit more conversational. We didn't have this problem in person, it's only when we're apart that we have this problem (although we didn't spend very long with each other in person, so who knows?). I think I posted a problem similar to this almost a year ago. It's just that I get bored. I'm not sure how to bring it up though. Most of the time I just start doing something else so that I don't get bored, but every once in awhile, I do want to talk. Right now we're videochatting and he has the tv going on in the background and is web surfing. And I can type this whole thing up because we're not even talking to each other. =/
Els Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 How long each day do you spend videocalling? If you spend all of your available internet time together doing so, this will inevitably happen sometimes. Nobody can sustain 3 hours everyday doing nothing but talking - or at least very few people can. I've this problem as well, but the next time my guy leaves the country again I'll probably try to set a time each day when we really talk (say, the first 20 minutes or so when we get online), and the rest of the time is free game. If it's not too expensive, you might want to do more phone calls - their attention tends to be there more.
Author araven Posted February 12, 2010 Author Posted February 12, 2010 We don't talk that often at all. Usually we only talk on the weekends, although recently we've been talking almost every day because he's on vacation from work. We don't talk long though because of the time difference.
