I've been in an FWB type situation for about a year now. We've known each other two years, friends for one and then FWB for another. I still consider us very much friends aside from the "benefits" portion. I haven't dated seriously during this time (working two jobs), or we wouldn't be FWBs.

Now for the question..

We were talking about going to the batting cages together, he told me a friend from work asked to come with. I said sure, lets do it.

The subject changed and, later in the conversation, we started discussing the details of the outing and he made a strange comment.

Him: Be sure to wear something skimpy, my buddy* is coming along! (he laughed)

I rolled my eyes and jokingly asked, "Wear something skimpy? Please. For him or for you?"

He laughed but didn't answer. *His buddy is single.

Thinking of it as just banter--I didn't put much thought into it till later, but then found it odd. Its not a usual comment for him. In the past, he has gotten a little "protective" when I've gone on dates (tough cookies) but none of them ever went past the first date for many reasons...so we stayed FWBs.

Is he now genuinely trying to set me up or is he playing games with me?

Honestly, he is probably hoping for a threesome.

Sorry.
