Hot Carl Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 It just occurred to me that the reason that nice guys have such a hard time maintaining relationships is because women don't really respect them. Comments?
USMCHokie Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Ummm...isn't this already common knowledge...?
Author Hot Carl Posted February 10, 2010 Author Posted February 10, 2010 What are you getting at, USMCHOKIE?
USMCHokie Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 What are you getting at, USMCHOKIE? Your assertion is accurate. Women do not respect the stereotypical "nice guy". Therefore, these guys will have trouble keeping a woman around long enough for a serious relationship...
soulm8 Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 It's true... too nice is boring and respect gets chipped away. Alphamale's guide to keeping women around has very valid points in it (the link's in his signature).
WTRanger Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Just look at one of the other 100,000 threads like this. For the billionth time, the "nice guys" you speak of are actually manipulative, doormat, closet creeps who blame their lack of spine on the woman.
Citizen Erased Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I respect nice guys. I have one of the nicest ones out there. I don't respect whiny children that aren't actually nice, they're just in fact useless and selfish.
aroll32 Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Obviously there's a difference between nice, and creepy nice. From my viewpoint, the regular nice guy is the one who normally gets hurt when he has feelings. Not sure exactly why, but it's happened to me a couple of times when I have had feelings for someone. I know I wasn't creepy nice because I didn't call 100 times in a row, send chocolates or something after dating for a week, etc. Again, not sure if what you are saying is right. But who really knows? Definitely not me, or anyone for that matter. If we did, the dating game wouldn't be a mystery to us. I for one wouldn't be wondering why some girl who showed a lot of interest randomly stopped talking to me. But hey, that's all a part of the game I guess

But hey, that's all a part of the game I guess It happens to everyone. You have to learn to make allowances for that when you're getting to know someone. The most important thing is to maintain your convictions about who you are and don't be to tolerant when they start acting flaky.
skydiveaddict Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Your assertion is accurate. Women do not respect the stereotypical "nice guy". Therefore, these guys will have trouble keeping a woman around long enough for a serious relationship... True words. nothing else to add. I've already gotten in enough trouble over starting threads like this. Let alone contribute to them
USMCHokie Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 True words. nothing else to add. I've already gotten in enough trouble over starting threads like this. Let alone contribute to them Yea...this is not "a new spin" on anything....
Twenty-ten Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 What concerns me is that it had been at least three days since someone started a topic about Nice Guys, thanks for coming through Hotcarl I was starting to lose faith.
aroll32 Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Yeah you're right. The saying "nice guys finish last" is corny but all in all true. I guess.
burning 4 revenge Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Yea...this is not "a new spin" on anything.... Speak for yourself I feel like the cataracts have been removed from my eyes

Art_Critic Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I'm new here.. Can someone explain to me what a nice guy is ? Thanks for helping a newbie out
hearttobreak Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Define "nice guy"? I consider myself an average guy. Don't run after women. Don't call them that much. Don't text them, etc. I do have my own life ya know. And I don't put them on a pedestal. One problem I do have is making the first move.. Always an issue for me. Its the nice guy thing, its the nervousness and how she will react what makes me pause...
counterman Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Speak for yourself I feel like the cataracts have been removed from my eyes Good one! Hey! You all better start respecting us nice guys or else we will stop being nice Think about it!

Mr White Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 It just occurred to me that the reason that nice guys have such a hard time maintaining relationships is because women don't really respect them. Comments? Well, it is not anything new , but worth emphasizing anyway. It is sad, but true, that in order to have woman respect you you probably should piss her off every once in a while and do whatever you want, no matter what she thinks. Being nice and accompdating all the time will turn her off, for reasons that I do not understand, but oh well....
