SilkRose Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 So Valentines Day is coming around soon. Does anyone have any ideas for fun things for singles to do on Valentines? Things that don't involve looking for a date, just having fun. I'm working, might go to see a (non-romantic) movie with a friend afterwards. So I'm make some money and have some good company.
USMCHokie Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Every year on V-Day I sat alone in my room in the dark watching TV or on the computer. If I could be so lucky to do that again this year...!
SOLACEMENT Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Not sure... may go to a concert with the best friend...the joys of being single and young...lol..sigh Hope you find something to do..
harmfulsweetz Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 It's my first in three years, so I have no plans, but I do intend to make it fun. I may order a pizza, bottle of wine and some ice cream! Calorie consumption is the way forward! Then settle down with either a good book, a bath and some candles, and then a movie. I'm loving it already, can I have one of those nights every night?
Peter Attis Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I'm going to be in the library studying for a physics test. Yes, that is pathetic.
bananaboat11 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 This is my first Valentine's day alone... first time I DON'T have to spend money... I think I may enjoy this. Don't really know what I'll do. but **** being sad. I'm done with that bull****. It gets me nowhere... I am an alpha.. I need to act like myself again.
Rulebreaker Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I posted an ad on Craigslist to go to my pre-breakup Valentine's Day dinner reservation with me. I have gotten some very amusing responses.
phineas Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 originally I was just going to get together with a single mom I know & we were going to take our kids somewhere fun. Now it looks like i'm going over there after I drop off my kids to help her move a piece of furniture & she is going to make me dinner. not really sure how that happened really. I don't think it's a date.
Zeegagge Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I'll be on the beach, of course, that's what I do every Sunday. I'll be out there being glad that I don't have to deal with any of the bull****!
JoJola Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I go out to dinner with my single girlfriends and laugh about how we all seem to be single every V-day!
Citizen Erased Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 The last 5 years while in a relationship I did nothing so I figure I'll do the same now I am single. May order some Indian food though. Mmm.
mortensorchid Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I buy a box of chocolates and eat them with my dudes. We sit in a bar or at someone's house watching TV.
counterman Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I will be working Afterwards, I am probably just going to chill, maybe watch a movie.
OpenBook Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 (Do this a couple days before Valentine's Day) Go to a Hallmark (or any card/stationery store that has TONS of cards) and pick out some cute cards to send to friends & relatives who live far away. That always cheers me up! On the day itself, go shopping!!! Treat yourself to a nice handbag or something you've thought about buying but never did. When All Else Fails, The Answer Lies At The Mall... :bunny:
bettedaviseyes Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I'm going to a massive pillow fight.

thegreatmoose Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Sleep for 24 hours. Very relaxing and very cheap.
harmfulsweetz Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Retail therapy sounds good! I'm definitely spending the day shopping, treating myself, before settling down for some pizza and wine and a movie. May buy a lovely foot spa set and clothes I'm loving the single life already.
Author SilkRose Posted February 10, 2010 Author Posted February 10, 2010 So many fun suggestions! Pillow fighting sounds great, so does chilling out, eating ice cream and watching movies. Why sit home alone when I can have a good time?

Why sit home alone when I can have a good time? Exactly. You can even have a great time alone too! I'm loving the shopping idea!
Author SilkRose Posted February 10, 2010 Author Posted February 10, 2010 I want to make money not spend it, so I will be doing that at work, then something financially 'cheap' and fun.
counterman Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Why do all those things when you can sit alone in your dark room on your bed, crying whilst looking at a picture of your ex and screaming his/her name and screaming "WHY?"? Then crawl onto your bed into the fetal position and cry yourself to sleep. Of course I am kidding! Those are all great ideas - shopping for yourself is awesome, and I love eating ice cream and watching movies, having a spa bath, hanging out with other single friends (hopefully not moaning about being single), taking your parents out (if they aren't doing anything), ordering fast food (yum!) and pillow fight (LOL).
