mortensorchid Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I signed into Match today, just to check my messages and any activity that might be going on. I checked on the guy I've been seeing the last few weeks who I am currently waiting for him to call me (see previous postings), and he was active within an hour of my signing on. Just another thing to make you feel insecure, but I refuse to contact him again until he makes the next move. Is that spying? I couldn't help but look.
paleblue Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 i dont think that is spying. i think spying is driving by peoples houses and things like that. its good to know what people are up too if you feel like they are not being up front with you. sometimes its the only way to find out. in which case you shouldnt feel bad. you just prevented someone from pulling a sham wow over your eyes. take my exgf for example. she would swear up and down to me she wasnt seeing anyone and wanted so bad to be friends. i didnt believe her for some reason. something wasnt right. so early in the morning over the course of a couple of weekends i drove past her place on my way to the store. guess what - her vehicle was not there. where was she? not home. she is sleeping with her ex bf. or someones place. would i have known that if i didnt take matters into my own hands? nope. bc she was lying and deceiving me. and i dont feel bad at all for doing what i did. i finally found out the truth. who needs friends like that. not me. you have every right to know what someone is up too if you are taking a chance with them with your heart.
Zeegagge Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 It's not spying because an online dating profile is something that someone makes purposely available to the rest of the world. Something like where a person's car is parked at a given time, while technically public info (unless its in the garage, lol) is not purposely made available for the rest of the world. I would consider things like that to be spying.

Ok, so you were online and he was online... what's the issue here?
