Why is it so hard to talk to and relate to younger (18-21 year old) girls?

Oh definitely. Everyone is different, and one's being cultured or not can definitely be independent of age or brain development, so I think it's often a combination of factors.

 

I get confused by your posts though, OP...you frequently rant that you can't find women your age or younger who are intellectually relatable to you, and how much of a problem that is. But then you go on to state that actually you'd be fine dating a ditz, you just don't know how to. So which do you want?

 

Well...ditzy can be conceptualized as absent minded, I guess...and some of the best professors are absent minded so ditzy could be quite congruent with what the OP seems to want :D:D

I HAVE been dating older women. I've ALWAYS dated older women. I didn't have a choice. I've always wanted to date girls my age or younger but never could win them over somehow.

 

 

Well the girls in that age bracket have the brains of a gnat.

 

Why so hung up on your age or younger when clearly the older ones are a better fit?

Why are girls considered immature when they don't feel like talking about economics, politics, books or art? I'm a guy and I don't want to spend all my free time talking about that stuff either. With girls that age, they're probably spending their time learning all that in school at the moment and don't feel like talking about school.

So someone who likes to watch MTV is an airhead/uncultured/immature? Really?

 

I'd bet a great deal that those saying such things aren't quite as sophisticated and cultured as they think. :cool:

Ummm, you hit the nail on the head. I don't see how they're mutually incompatible or why you're having trouble understanding that.

 

I can't find girls my age or younger who can relate to me.

 

So I'm willing to give up looking for the needle in a haystack and settle for a ditzy party girl.

 

I just don't know how to get ditzy party girls to like me.

Wow that is a ridiculous thing to say! Why should he go for older women, he should be able to date whomever he wants. It's more natural that he go for women in and around his age.

 

I think the place he is looking for these women may have a lot to do with it.

there are plenty women on this board alone in that age bracket that don't have "brains of a gnat" and can talk about all sorts of different topics eloquently. So clearly not all young women have shallow and stupid interests.

 

I think it is more the case of, "how do I get me a bimbo looking girl that can also talk about world politics and history" That's IS a hard find. LOL

Well, I'm sorry, but I don't know anything about about pop culture and celebrity gossip. I don't know who the Kardashians are or who did what on "Jersey Beach" or "OC."

 

That's why I'm asking, what am I supposed to do when girls start talking about that besides just hushing up and standing around like a 3rd wheel?

Don't worry about that most guys prob don't and quite frankly don't care. Find a common ground of topics you can both discuss, and work on that. Basic human interest stuff. There is an entire world of topics that you can share.

You hit the nail on the head. You know that when you bring up an intellectual subject, even with another college girl, she's gonna find you boring. But when you bring up pop culture junk her eyes will light up.

 

You need to follow my advice and just fake it. I'm sorry, but adaption is the only way to survive in a jungle of ditzes.

I think he is just looking for a hot trophy girl but realizes the majority of them that is all they have going for them.

I think the question is a bit facetious. The op is basically stating that he has no problem with woman in their mid to later 20's which I think we can all agree is not "past their prime".

 

But supposedly he has this need to date 18-22 yr olds, even though he finds it mind numbingly boring and refuses to engage in their interests ?

 

I mean whats the problem here unless you have a birth certificate fetish ?

 

Date a 26 yr old hottie who is smart AND fun AND pretty. Problem solved.

I've yet to stand near a group of 50-something women and hear them discussing advanced calculus, nietzschean philosophy or biochemistry???? Bigot.
