SoVicious Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Hello LS, I was just wondering if anyone out there had to go through what I'm going through right now. After about a month of my ex and I breaking up we were hanging out almost everyday... and silly me thought we were on the brink of falling in love all over again. Then I found out that she is hooking up with an old friend of mine. I had confronted her about it earlier since i suspected something was going on, but she told me that they were just friends. Upon finding I told her to never talk to me again, and truthfully have never been hurt so much in life. It hurts enough when you ex starts dating someone else but it hurts a whole hell of a lot more when you know that person. It only makes it worth that this was my first love. It has been 3 days NC, and just wanted to know if anyone has been hurt by an ex like I have, or maybe even worse?

Yeah that's a terrible feeling but it sounds like you are very young and you will bounce back real well. :bunny: I believe people have been hurt a lot worse on this site, like being left after 18 years of marriage to take care of the children on their own. People have been abused and mistreated all over this website. Some have even had their partners die. I really don’t think you’re that bad off. Buck up and walk it off. You have a lot of living ahead of you.

I try to make as clean as break as possible with whomever I broke up with and it usually works.

Yep, when exes hang out together after a breakup, one is weaning themselves off the other one while the other thinks things have a chance of reforming. Don't be either person. Things will get better in time OP and you will look back on this and be grateful for your good fortune of getting away from a dud. She's his problem now, and likely looking for her next rock to jump to. Oh, and he's a rebound too, won't last.

You need to get to the point where you don't care. c: Better or worse is relative to them directly, not to you. What is better FOR them does not mean that person is better than YOU. Just different. You guys spend far too much time ripping up your own self-esteem instead of focusing on why you're a catch and projecting that to NEW people. Sheesh.
