laRubiaBonita Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 My sister and I really want to get LHR done on our faces. we have the great genetics that grace us with "stray eyebrows" and coarse facial hair. not that we have noticable mustaches or anything... but it's not peach fuzz. so we want to get LHR together. ahs anyone else done it? what can you tell me? how many times did you have to get treatments before it was effective? what was the cost? did it damage your skin? are you happy with it? TIA!
2sure Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 At the risk of sounding like a beast - Ive had plenty done. I have very white skin and very dark hair, so it was noticeable and a big pain. Fortunately, LHR works best on light skin with dark hair. I had my upper lip and under arms done, and bikini lines done. The LHR is given as a course of treatments usually requiring 3 - 4 treatments a month or so apart. The treatments are generally sold as a package. The larger the area, the more costly it will be. The upper lip is the most commonly done and the least expensive since you can often get an intro rate for this area. Look for a special like 200.00 US for three treatments. Its important that the correct laser and strength be used or else you can burn. Some medications can also cause sensitivity - like acne meds or antibiotics. I once was burned because between sessions I had gotten more sun than usual which had slightly darkened my skin. That was awful and unsightly although it did not scar. After 3 treatments on my upper lip, bikini line, and underarms - Ive had each area done again once a year later. Just a few stray hairs once in awhile here and there. I just tweeze them away. I like the results so much, I had my daughter's brows done (you know, that spot in between).
