shadowplay Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 The porn threads have gotten me curious. 1. When you're in a serious, committed relationship do you continue to regularly view porn assuming that you're being satisfied sexually by your partner? 2. Does the frequency with which you view or whether you view it at all correspond to how strongly you feel about your partner? In other words, do you still look at porn when you're completely head over heels for a woman and getting regular sex with her? 3. Do you imagine having sex with your SO when looking at the porn? My boyfriend told me that he hasn't been able to get off to porn since we started dating and has lost all interest in other women. I thought this was sweet and interesting, but it wouldn't have bothered me had he continued to view porn. I'm wondering how applicable this is to guys in general when they feel very strongly about a woman.
espec10001 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 He'll lose interest in the porn while the relationship is still new and fresh. Then when it starts to get old he'll look at it again and other women.
Author shadowplay Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 He'll lose interest in the porn while the relationship is still new and fresh. Then when it starts to get old he'll look at it again and other women. I disagree with this. I think it depends on the guy. Some men are grass is greener types who will never be satisfied with one women. They need variety, even if it's just in fantasy form. Others will stay devoted to the same woman for years.

Its perfectly possible that your guy could get bored of you, or go back to looking at porn or other women if you deny him sex.
TouchedByViolet Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Guys look at porn. If the relationship is new and fresh he won't think about porn but after awhile he will definitely start to watch it again. This is NOT a bad thing. It doesn't mean he cares about you less or that you don't satisfy him, its just that men have a certain curosity. In the future you can watch some motion pictures together
PJKino Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 If u have been with soemobdy long enough sex gets stagnant theryes only so many positions and things you can do..Both partners get bored so thats when the porn comes in more handy
wheream_i Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 I disagree with this. I think it depends on the guy. Some men are grass is greener types who will never be satisfied with one women. They need variety, even if it's just in fantasy form. Others will stay devoted to the same woman for years. I think I fall into the former category. I experienced porn at a very early age and have always loved it. However, I wouldn't go so far as to say that I have an addiction because I'll always prefer the real thing and I spend lots of time making sure the woman is well taken care of as opposed to just getting mine. But I do like to have kinky, porno sex and have had partners that were comfortable enough with themselves to indulge as well. I'll still watch porn whether they are satisfying in bed or not. It's either when they are not around or I'm just feeling bored and horny. Not as a substitute. If I use it as a substitute then I shouldn't be with them in the first place.

I've known some that would rather have it than watch it. But you do have a certain type that regularly views it, and I tend to stray away from those type of men. They tend to be very 'creepy' and often view women as sex objects; very superficial. They talk about sex way too much ; and develop weird fetishes and addictions to porn. I have not met a guy who did not fall into this category who was a regularly porn viewer. I would never be able to trust a man to be good relationship/husband material who watches porn on a regular basis.
FryFish Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 The porn threads have gotten me curious. 1. Does the frequency with which you view or whether you view it at all correspond to how strongly you feel about your partner? In other words, do you still look at porn when you're completely head over heels for a woman and getting regular sex with her?It doesnt correspond to how I feel but rather to how much free time I might have. Less free time means less porn. Im NOT saying I watch it all the time. 3. Do you imagine having sex with your SO when looking at the porn?Sometimes. Not all guys look at porn. I've known some that would rather have it than watch it. All regular, normal guys do. But you do have a certain type that regularly views it, and I tend to stray away from those type of men. They tend to be very 'creepy' and often view women as sex objects; very superficial. This is incorrect. They talk about sex way too much ; and develop weird fetishes and addictions to porn.Did you learn this in church? I have not met a guy who did not fall into this category who was a regularly porn viewer. You prejudge people so this is the category you would put them in as soon as you found out they looked at porn. Here is a shocker: almost every guy you currently know looks at porn regularly. Most of them lie to you about how often they do it. I promise this is a fact. I would never be able to trust a man to be good relationship/husband material who watches porn on a regular basis.lol... Its the ones who actually abstain from porn who are the creepy weirdos. For the most part Porn prevents acting out in sexual frustration, it doesnt cause it.

I actually got to know guys who watch porn on a regular basis and every last single on of them fit the criteria of being creepy, closeted sex addicts. They can't even have normal relationships because they develop a dependency on it. It's quite sad to think some men would spend their time in front of a computer screen jacking off, it's incredibly despicable. lol... Its the ones who actually abstain from porn who are the creepy weirdos. For the most part Porn prevents acting out in sexual frustration, it doesnt cause it. If that were actually true than the entire population including your grandfather, great grandfather great great grandfather who lived before porn and the internet became accessible would fit this category Not all guys look at porn. I've known some that would rather have it than watch it. All regular, normal guys do. Only men who have a dependency on porn would try to drag other men down with them by saying that "all normal men do". No, YOU do it. Edited February 2, 2010 by MissJoness
FryFish Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 If that were actually true than the entire population including your grandfather, great grandfather great great grandfather who lived before porn and the internet became accessible would fit this categoryPorn has been around as long as there has been ANY kind of media. This includes charcoal and stone walls. Only men who have a dependency on porn would try to drag other men down with them by saying that "all normal men do". No, YOU do it.No, we all do.
espec10001 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 I'm afraid I do not know ONE guy, whether single, in a relationship, or married, that does NOT watch porn. It's something all guys do, that's the reality.
wheream_i Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 I'd have to agree with you on all of this. That post was almost laughable. Yes. It doesnt correspond to how I feel but rather to how much free time I might have. Less free time means less porn. Im NOT saying I watch it all the time. Sometimes. All regular, normal guys do. MissJoness Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 I'm afraid I do not know ONE guy, whether single, in a relationship, or married, that does NOT watch porn. It's something all guys do, that's the reality. I know guys who don't watch porn. One being my father. He was never into that stuff and as a kid I used to search my parents room from top to bottom and never found any dirty videos or magazines in their posession. The only thing I found was some condoms as a kid & that was it. We had a computer and he barely touched it and when he did he never looked at that crap. My ex boyfriend wasn't into it either. He said as a teenager but he grew out of it. So to those who are making it seem as if its the norm that all men look at porn are just flat out wrong and need to stop saying it. Its really annoying. I personally would never ever get into a serious relationship wtih a guy who had a stash of dirty magazines, porn, etc and watched it on a regular basis. Those men are incredibly creepy and not relationship material at all. When I think of a man viewing porn, I invision a fat, greasy, balding man with a chicken wing in one hand, and the other on his penis jerking off...just gross

You may not catch them doing it, but trust me, men watch porn. It's just like being a little kid and finding your dads penthouse or something, except now it's all out there for free anytime men want. It's like me saying women don't poop because I never see them poop.

And my b/f didn't either. My b/f had no reason to lie about it. He didn't own a computer and nor did he have a working DVD player. So just how was he going to view it? Not everybody watches it.

You have a crystal ball that tells you what goes on in other people's homes now? I would defintely lose respect for a man who views it on a regular basis.Nor would I trust or value anything he has to say

Do you think people don't have secrets. And if he really doesn't watch it, he must be old. You'd lose respect for a WHOLE lotta men if you only knew.

Later, I remember my mother saying she and my dad weren't into that kind of stuff...
Bejita463 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 My parents never owned any of that stuff. If they did, I surely would have found it I chuckled. I don't care enough to take sides, because porn arguments always lead to the same place as political and religious ones - Stupid Rd. However, the logic in that quote was amusing to me. I felt like sharing.

Ok, maybe not 100% of men watch it, but I'd say closer to 95% LOL. I thought women had men figured out, they know what they want. Why this comes as a surprise to any woman this day and age is beyond me.
