soserious1 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 and I've come to the conclusion that for me the entire marriage thing was a huge waste of my emotions, time and my fiscal resources. Hell, I go to the "let's fix the poor old dear up" dinner parties my friends have and leave alone actually feeling relieved that I'm single again. If marriage works for you, awesome but for me it was a train wreck that I'm not going to be repeating. Now to convince my friends that I'm really not interested in meeting the 70 yr old men they keep trying to pawn off on me:)
HeyThere Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 I think it must be hard for single men and women after a divorce. The fact that you express comfort at being single now is a real plus sign. Whatever you’ve been through that was a “train wreck” sounds painful. Enjoying yourself and those around you shows the peace you feel within. Best of everything.

I would definitely have to agree with this, and also add that most people who have gone through a rough marraige and end in divorce would say that marriage can be over rated. I know a lot of people who have had a terrible marriage and divorce and would never do it again. They are content at being single for the rest of their days which too is fine. Glad you are in a good place now! That's what matters most right? Much happiness to you.
Jeff1962 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Good for you. I know for me that IF my marriage were to ever end, that would be it for me too as far as ever getting married again.
Samantha0905 Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Good for you. I know for me that IF my marriage were to ever end, that would be it for me too as far as ever getting married again. Me too. I'd be one and done. OP, glad you are in a good place. Sorry about the 70 year old fix ups.
mem11363 Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Is to meet one really smart man, with a light sense of humor and a fondness for alligators. I understand you won't marry him - but perhaps you will simply happily cohabit... Praying for you and preying for you and I've come to the conclusion that for me the entire marriage thing was a huge waste of my emotions, time and my fiscal resources.
