someone89 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 I always sleep around 3am if i don't have any classes in the morning the next day. I know this is unhealthy and i try to stop, but fail. I really not feel sleepy before 3am, beside that i have a bad habit to take a bath and wash my hair at night (around 10pm-12am), i know this is not good too. Any advices how to stop this? Thanks in advance
Lizzie60 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Hum... I have the same problem.. except I fall asleep as soon as I touch my pillow.. but I am awake at 2 or 3 am... What I do.. every few days I take a sleeping pill.. otherwise it doesn't change.. and I get verrrry tired..
clueless haha Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 i had this problem!! i wouldn't fall asleep until 2 or 3! So what i started to do is go to bed at 10 and i would listen to metal on my walkman (Tool specifically, their lyrics are very deep and meaningful, it really relaxes me) until 2-3 when i would fall asleep... 1 month later and i'm still doing the same thing but i'm falling asleep at 1 now! try it (but with your taste of music, it has to be relaxing!).......
Meaplus3 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Hum... I have the same problem.. except I fall asleep as soon as I touch my pillow.. but I am awake at 2 or 3 am... What I do.. every few days I take a sleeping pill.. otherwise it doesn't change.. and I get verrrry tired.. I can relate to waking in the middle of the night.. it stinks. Lately, I've been making it till like 5:30 which is good for me. A couple tylenol before bed.. seems to help. Mea:)
Els Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 What I do, if I have the time to do so, is push my sleeping time later and later til I end up sleeping at 8pm or so. Unfortunately that takes about 1-2 weeks of sleeping off most of the day...
Toki Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 As someone who suffers from chronic insomnia, I'm trying to figure this out for myself as well. 1-2 hours to actually get to sleep sucks, if my schedule goes into complete opposites (meaning I've become nocturnal again) I just skip a day, and I'm guaranteed to be out by 10pm that night.
on edge Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 if you exercised, you would be able to fall asleep.
GrayClouds Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 force yourself to star the day earlier every couple of days until you are getting up at 6 am.
baker23 Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 My brother had the same problem; he wouldn't go to bed until the wee hours in the morning because his job was very flexible. He started a new job, and he needed to wake up at 6:30am every day; the first couple of weeks, he was miserable, but then his body adjusted. He now goes to bed around 9:30-10:00pm without any trouble.

I have this same problem, but only when I'm stressed out or there is something that is worrying me, then I wake up in the middle of the night. No matter how many tylenol pm I take; it doesn't help.
