hamburglar Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 A little over three months ago, after dating for 13 months, my girlfriend broke up with me. After we first broke up, I made all the classic mistakes: I tried convincing her to take me back, I acted all depressed, I contacted her and asked her to hang out, etc. I haven't tried to ask her to spend time with me for over a month now. What should I do at this point?

What should I do at this point? It is over, as the man said if she wanted to be with you you would be asking question, you would know it. Focus on yourself, getting strong and keeping NC going to be kind to yourself.
kwyser Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Start living your own life for a while. See other people, fix some stuff wrong in your life, if there is anything, and stop thinking about her for a while. After this if you still miss her you can initiate contact. But whatever you do do not act needy or depressed. This alone may spark her interest again.

You have to heal and move on for you, not for her.
WTRanger Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Disagree. Don't EVER let hope that she'd be interested again guide or influence you actions. You have to heal and move on for you, not for her. Quoted for truth. Hope in this situation is a very dangerous thing and not to be used lightly.

What should I do at this point? The best thing you can do is learn to slowly let go. You have to heal now. I know it's easier said than done, but it's the healthy thing to do now for yourself. One day you'll look back and realize that you are better off without her. Trust the inner strength of your ability to help you become someone who deserves a love from someone who WANTS you just as much as you want them....
counterman Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Many people do make these mistakes after a break-up. Our emotions are not in check and we just go with how we feel and do things accordingly without really thinking it through. Best thing is you can learn from them, and not dwell on what has passed. There's no point regretting. Live and learn. I agree with everyone here. Just focus on yourself, be kind to yourself and allow yourself to heal. Exercise, go do things you enjoy with your friends and family, read a book, learn something new, etc. It's all you now.
