Author Itzo Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 One doesn't need clothing and shelter. We could all live naked under the sun. Food is a basic need for self-survival, and sex is a basic need for survival of a race. Clothing and shelter are not basic needs of survival, if survival only is what we are discussing. One doesn't need clothing and shelter. We could all live naked under the sun. Hmmm ... what you are going to do during the winter season?
Ms. Joolie Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Sex is a desire. ...which stems from the need of our sexual being, for the sake of reproduction and/or pleasure.

Author Itzo Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 No they aren't. I desire a pony, what need is that associated with? I desire a shiny ruby, what need is that associated with? I desire to watch a rerun of House on DVD, what need is that associated with? I desire for the Saints to win the Super Bowl, what need is that associated with? I desire that a wall in my house be a different color, what need is that associated with? ... You do not desire a pony, you WANT a pony. You do not desire a shiny ruby, you WANT a shiny ruby ... You do not desire a watch, house or DVD, you WANT them ... I am telling you, you do not listen. You do not understand the difference between WANT and a NEED. I am not trying to convince you ...

marlena Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Itzo, Are you really from Bulgaria? It's so refreshing to get the points of view of people from other countries. I love this sort of interaction. It lends a more encompassing, global perspective of things that, in the final analysis, are universal concerns, as old as the dawn of time. By the way, I am your bordering neighbour, so it's not all that surprising that we should share a mutual point of view. Cultural denominations are very interesting to ponder.
Jersey Shortie Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 How long can a person live without water? Not Long How long can a person live without food? Not long but maybe a little longer then without water. How long can a person live without shelter? Longer then food or water but depending on the climate it leaves you pretty vunerable. How long can a person live without clothing? Longer then food, water or possibly sheatler but it also clearly leaves you vunerable. How long can a person live without sex? - Indefinitely. You do not need sex for basic survival. Food, water, clothing and shealter are detrimental to our personal survival. Sex is not. Sex is only a need when you are Adam and Eve and are building a population. Otherwise, sex, in most cases, is disposable and is a desire or a want.
marlena Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 How long can a person live without sex? - Indefinitely. You do not need sex for basic survival. How long can a person live without dying spirtually? Without touch, we are the living dead. For some, breathing is enough. For others, it is not enough to vegetate.
Jersey Shortie Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Spirtuality and the exploration of it and what we think we need to sustain it is also a modern day luxury. Do you really think cavemen were worried about their spirituality over survival? No. If they did, they would have died out. Native Americans didn't bask in their spirituality first and then hunt. They hunted first then on their down time, basked in their spiritual concepts. No one is saying people don't need to be touched. Infact, I am the one that said people need sex for mental health more then phyiscal. However, people can adapt and self sustain themselves without sex. Sex is not a need that is as high up on the level of survial as other factors.
espec10001 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Sex just prolongs this cycle of life and death we are in. Some of us just want to get off the damn ride it's making us sick. All I hear is "life is short", but for some life is much too long.

Sex is only a need when you are Adam and Eve and are building a population. Otherwise, sex, in most cases, is disposable and is a desire or a want. wow ... you do not need sex for basic survival? That's just drives me nuts Ok, tell me this ... how your genes that you inherited by your parents will be passed on to the next generation, if you do not have sex? You did not need it? You will just become a infertile. Your biological drives maintain the idea that you should pass your genes ... that's why you are having all these ovulation periods to keep your internal system clean, not matter you like it or not. You do not say ... I do not want to have kids, so I do not need those periods therefore I do not need sex. ok, you get the point ... So you do not say ... OK I do not need ovaluation periods, because I do not like them or I do not need them, because I can live long enough without having them. You just can't stop these processes, yet you need them to maintain the cycle of life, I call this survival. Because ovaluation periods prepare yourself to be a mother one day, to get pregnant and so on. Sex is a need, to make this process happening.
marlena Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Do you really think cavemen were worried about their spirituality over survival? Correct me if I am wrong but cavemen were having a hell of an orgasmic time, club in hand, dragging in any female they perchance encoutered ...pure, primal instinct in all its glory... speaking the truth... no matte how "civilization" tries to coccoon it in a swaddle of lies...

Well there are still savages out there. No one is stopping you from joining them if that is what you want.

Survivor & Replication 2. Sex produces feelings of intimacy & love. Without sex ... LOVE & INTIMACY would NOT exist! Porn industry uses sex as a concept that sex is just a pleasure ... in fact it is MUCH MORE than this. You NEED IT in the emotional and in the psysical realms.

You do not need sex for basic survival. Food, shelter, clothing and sex are means to extend survival, whether the survival of one individual or the survival of a race. I find it interesting to imagine the days of the caveman. They had to eat, they had to find shelter, they had to cloth their bodies..... and they had sex. Why the need for sex? Sex is something we do with people and for people, because we cannot live alone. It's a need, a very basic one.

I just couldn't resist to reply to this post Yes, I am from and in Bulgaria now :>) What country you are from? Romania? Right, the concepts I am talkin' about are fundamental ... I am glad you share the same insights/perspective as myself, but this is NOT enough to make me interested

Besides, it wasn't your interest I was trying to spark. I could care less.. Just a question, no more, no less.. all in the spirit of good debate... Edited February 2, 2010 by marlena

Trying to convince someone about something is a very hard game to play! I just like to inform and see what people can TAKE from this. I find it important, as well as interesting ... It is crazy that people do not get this thing ... I thought it was obvious by now well ... people just live in a different alternate reality. I do not blame them for this ... it is part of what makes us human
