We all should be happy! I hate commercial media, media has ruined everything . I am speaking about looks. They have created stupid beauty standards. Women don't need so much fake stuff(breasts,lips etc) There are no ugly persons. It's not all about the looks.Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder(seriously) It's about what you see in yourself. For those who doesn't feel confident about their looks or talent. There is one saying what i heard recently and it's 100 % true. " It's about kitten that saw its image in a puddle while drinking water. The thing was that the kitten did not see a kitten, he saw a lion! You see, the only thing that matters is how you see yourself. Looks, talent and everything else is useless without confidence! " We all have had bad days when we feel ourselves more empty or not so attractive. Why most of us act like we MUST like to everyone? It's pointless. We don't have to live to others, we have to live to ourselves! There is nothing what we need to prove to others. I lost all my insecurities when i changed the way i act towards the other people. If someone doesn't like me scre her/him. I don't care about other people's opinions. I care about my family opinions. When we see ourselves low,ugly or whatever, we act low,ugly and unconfident. When you are not confident about yourself then your posture is poor,you look down,you don't look into others persons eyes etc. It shouldn't be like that. There are many people who are cocky. Damn most of the population goes after that- " mainstream looks etc" I say screw it, and your life WILL be better. You don't need to be Brad Pitt / Angelina Jolie to attract other people around you. Most important, be YOURSELF. Never ever change yourself . All that alpha male stuff is silly also. It must be stupiest thing what i have ever heard. You don't need to act like a jerk around the ladies(ignoring or acting like a tough guy. Just be YOURSELF and be confident that's all. All the ladies will come running after you. Some rules to woman and man around here. 1. Be clean, smell clean, use some good cologne. 2. Wear your own style, clothes must be clean. 3. Start bodybuilding (seriously) you can do it in home also. Or go into gym and use a private trainer help. Read about bodybuilding, about proper nutrition. If you are in shape you feel so much better about yourself. 4. Once and for all BELIeVE INTO YOURSELF AND FORGET WHAT OTHER PEOPLE MAY THINK ABOUT YOU. I am an Average Joe. I mean looks and wallet's size. But women and people like me because i am myself and i don't care about other people opinion. Nobody should care about it. It's your life not others. All the problems come because of it. Social anxiety etc. So everybody ,raise your head up and start living. Everybody are special. YOU are special,never forget it. Don't compare yourself to others and everything will be fine. PS nr 2! A nice sentiment but we all know that it's BS. Some people are more attractive than others - that's a fact. And attractive people have it much better in the dating world - that is also a fact. Who said life was fair.

So it's all about BEING CONFIDENT. I am not speaking about dating only. As i said before-talent and looks are useless without confidence.

If you are ugly, it doesn't matter how confident you are.

Define ugly? What one considers ugly,is beautiful to another person. I don't like sweeping generalizations. You can't like to everybody. Everybody has different taste. And i repeat myself- looks ,talent are USELESS without confidence. Believe me i know people who aint so attractive, but they have a good life,because they know they are worth something. Those people who aint confident about their looks tend to be lazy when we are talking about self grooming and clothing. They see no point to dress nice or care about their appearance when they are considered ugly by other people or they have been picked on in school. If a average(don't say ugly,why?) guy/girl takes care about him/herself then other people WILL notice them and their confidence will raise. Some people just need clothing tips,they need to take up sport,get some new hairstyle done,they need some kick ass cologne and this is it. Clothing and being clean plays major role in society. When we have seen total makeover show,then we have seen that girls don't use make up, just have pony tail, they have bad taste in clothing etc. All things can be done without plastic surgery. Everybody just can't have Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie's face. There are attRACTIVE one's and average Joe's. Are you attractive in your eyes? I wonder how one can say that to him/herself? Enjoy Thats where my siggy came from!! That song makes everyone smile no matter what is going on. Makes you feel sort of carefree and better about things. And I do think that everyone is beautiful in some way or another. Some may not be beautiful on the outside to ME, but to someone else, they'll be the most gorgeous thing on earth. And some of those people may be more beautiful on the inside than Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie, just to use the OP's examples. Everyone is beautiful.

It doesn't come overnight ,but it can be learned if one learns to value him/herself as a important person in this life. So many people can't fulfill their dreams because they are afraid to fail, they afraid to fail in front of friends or relatives. They afraid to fail because they don't feel themselves attractive. Things shouldn't be like that. Everyone should pursue their dreams. Failing is a part of life. If you fail then you will raise your head up and try again. If you fail twice you'll do the same. Eventually you will succeed. Successful people are successful because they don't afraid to fail. They know that road to succsess will contain lot's of ups and downs. Everybody has some potential what they even don't know or they don't have the guts to make that potential work. So please people,think positively and life smiles back at you. Life is hard, but you can do it even harder for yourself if you are overthinking. It's YOUR life,not others. Be brave and conquere. Positive attitude can be learned it won't come overnight. Start today!

This is another element of universal beauty or attractiveness v. compatible elements in individuals. For some women, having a doormat is highly attractive, for a partner. This way he will be at her beck and call, at any given time. Myself, attractiveness is a man who knows and understands himself, who doesn't fear public opinion but can balance his perceptions. A man with strong moral fibre. The moral fibre aspect, will be challenging to individuals who don't share the same values. So yes, be yourself and believe in yourself, as long as you're patient, you too can find a compatible individual as a partner. Once people get into the whining and bemoaning about the inequities in dating and attraction, their attractiveness level bottoms out, to negligent or worse.

Everybody has different taste. Again, this sounds like a nice sentiment, but it's simply not true. There are universal standards of beauty. For instance, I'm sure you've been in situations where a stunning woman walks into a room and just about every guy there can't help but give her a glance over. Then another girl walks in and no one even takes notice. Sure, people have preferences. Some prefer blonds, some prefer brunettes. Some prefer blue eyes, others like green. But there are girls out there whom 99% of the male population would describe attractive and there are girls whom 99% of men would describe as unattractive or at best average (ditto for girls rating guys' looks). To say looks are purely subjective is not only a lie - it's also counter-productive. It gives people false hope that they would be able to end up with someone who is way out of their league.
