That is my new attitude! They have to come after me and rise to my standards! I wonder if that is what is happening to women I date who are close to 40 and single. They keep looking for someone better, you know, the other side of the fence is always greener sort of thing; hence, is probably why they never married. What about me? Well, if we are going strictly on raw headcounts of people capable of mating alone, factor out the percentage of women who are currently pregnant, and you will have a very different statistical picture. Men don't generally have "pregnant with another man's baby" high on their preference list when seeking sex.

So, if you want a woman in that age bracket, you're going to be competing with young guys, guys in that age bracket, and older guys, too. This could be viewed as a disadvantage for men, but I have heard from many women that once a woman hits 40 or so, she's invisible to most men for anything other than just sex. Basically, we're all screwed in one way or another, so we might as well just have some fun.

That would be 180,000,000 people. Using the average above, there are ~88,700,000 men to ~91,300,000 women. So there are ~2,600,000 more women than men. That averages 52,000 women per state. Older women outlive men (65 and over), so this skews the numbers unless you like 65+ year old women. Attractive, young woman are cocky for a reason, their are way more buyers, then there are sellers. In general (read, not everyone), men want girls from 20-late 30's. No matter what the guys age is from 18 to 80. So every man in that range is looking for one of those girls. The odds are grossly in these young women's favor. If you think they are going to come to you, you better be at a college town with a 70/30 ratio, pumped in the gym, rich as heck, or the meanest son of gun alpha male on the planet. Otherwise, you're gonna be lonely waiting around for one. Stop looking for excuses and go after them. They will reject you by the truck loads if they have lots of options, but you'll eventually find one you click with. The reasons they dump you will usually be stupid (too nice, boring, friend ), but shake it off and don't let it lower your self confidence.

If it works for pdq, maybe it will help more men find relationships. If it works for pdq, he too can publish his own bestseller called "Census Statistics: A Story About Bees to Honey".

That is why I focused my numbers on women below the age of 65. I'd also be interested in the ratio of buyers to sellers.
