betamanlet Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 But the thing is, it's Yiddish class, so it's going to be all geezers most likely.
Scottdmw Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Anything is a start. Keep taking steps in the right direction and who knows how far it can take you? Good work. Scott
LucreziaBorgia Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Why not take a course that young available women will be taking? Then again, you never know who might show up to Yiddish class. Perhaps some nice hipster chick like Janeane Garafolo of Lisa Loeb perhaps? Those girls are more my age, but you get the idea of the type I'm thinking of. Does that type appeal to you?

My main motivation taking the classes is for the subject, not to m eet people, though if I do, that's cool... I won't take a class JUST to meet people.
curiousnycgirl Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 But the thing is, it's Yiddish class, so it's going to be all geezers most likely. geezers already know yiddish - hopefully your class is full of people your age trying to understand geezers!
Author betamanlet Posted January 30, 2010 Author Posted January 30, 2010 geezers already know yiddish - hopefully your class is full of people your age trying to understand geezers! well, I was kinda joking, thinkg more of 40-50 year olds try ing to learn it. I can't see people my age wanting to learn it unless it's for something silly, like swing dancing or something. OR, it could be geezers trying to learn yiddish to impress the nursing home ladies.
Disillusioned Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Multiple people (none of whom know each other) have all told me the same 2 things: If you're a man, take sewing courses. If you're a woman, become a radio ham.

Disillusioned Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 I think ham operators are extinct... kinda hard to get replacement tubes for the radios. Au contraire, mon frere. There are several walkie-talkies on the market now which fit very nicely into small hands or a purse, if you catch my drift. My neighbor's daughter is half my age and she just got her license 2 months ago.
