OceanTropic Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 I don't mean aggressive like physically violent or abusive lol I'm talking about a woman who knows what she wants, and gets it. A woman who enjoys sports every now and then, and a woman who won't rest until she gets that promotion, or solves her law case. A woman who enjoys rough sex and a woman who doesn't mind getting some dirt under her nails. Is this a turn off to men? Or do men prefer a woman who is delicate and soft, is this more feminine?
alphamale Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 as long as i like her an assertive woman is great
xpaperxcutx Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 When I end doing all those things, I get accused of being one of the boys....
OndaChin Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Negative!!!! A woman with the "nutz" or... should I say "gaul" to assert herself is a highly attractive quality to have. Especially when a man turns her on and she has no problem admitting it to him (verbally and non-verbally). Just love that aggresive, go getting type of lady!!!
meerkat stew Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Or do men prefer a woman who is delicate and soft Personally I prefer a delicate soft woman who likes rough sex, nothing that would draw much blood or tear furniture up though.
Pyro Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 When I end doing all those things, I get accused of being one of the boys.... even during rough sex?
Author OceanTropic Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 Why then do so many of these women find themselves single and unable to get a guy to approach and start a conversation?
0hpenelope Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Why then do so many of these women find themselves single and unable to get a guy to approach and start a conversation? I've wondered about that, too. Perhaps it's because some of those men that these women are attracted to are too insecure or unsure of how to deal with an assertive woman? Some of the male users here on LS seem to be more appreciative of women w/ the traits you mentioned.
Pyro Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Why then do so many of these women find themselves single and unable to get a guy to approach and start a conversation? lots of guys are intimidated by a strong assertive woman. They feel threatened that she may make more money and that makes some guys insecure. Some guys also like to be in charge and an assertive woman will not stand to be bossed around.
Author OceanTropic Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 Some guys also like to be in charge and an assertive woman will not stand to be bossed around. That's very interesting. I would imagine though that a man would love the challenge? Or does he see this as competition?
Pyro Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 That's very interesting. I would imagine though that a man would love the challenge? Or does he see this as competition? I love the challenge of having someone my equal. That is it: competition. Lots of guys have the mentality of I have to win at everything. Like I said, some guys want to be seen as the superior one; the one "wearing the pants" in the relationship.
Jaytb Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Why then do so many of these women find themselves single and unable to get a guy to approach and start a conversation? I thought an "aggressive" woman would do the approaching cuz she knows what she wants?
meerkat stew Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 I would imagine though that a man would love the challenge? Sure, it's all fun and games until they start tearing stuff up. Lost a whole security deposit once when a woman I was with (a small but very strong woman) busted so many holes in my sheetrock and broke so much glass, bottles, windows, windshields (you know, dropping TVs and such off the balcony), that the landlord was going to kick me out. I had to keep her sedated and chained up in the closet in a Luchadore outfit most of the time. Mexican wrestling had a calming effect on her. My friends would always talk me into letting her out in hopes that she would pull a "pain train" on us, and sometimes she did, but mostly she just screamed, spit and threw stuff.
Author OceanTropic Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 I thought an "aggressive" woman would do the approaching cuz she knows what she wants? Just because a woman is aggressive doesn't mean she wants to do everything herself. She wants a man to take charge and have enough balls to approach her. She already knows that she might come off as intimidating, so any man big enough to speak to her is already high on her list. She knows what she wants, and she wants a MAN (a.k.a someone who is not intimidated or afraid of her).
BG1985 Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 The problem is that strong women typically don't attract strong men. When two alpha personalities get involved with each other, they are constantly competing against each other. That's not the basis for a good relationship. The men who claim to be attracted to such women are too afraid to approach her.

For me, I prefer a woman in between, with a slight slant either direction. Nothing to extreme - can't be with a total prissy type or an extreme over the top, "extra verbal when drunk" type.
xpaperxcutx Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 even during rough sex? The guy tells me I scare him, especially when I mentioned anal. Then he told me " I just gone limp"....

In fact, it was quite a turn on.... lol

They secretly enjoy being bossed around and told what to do.

If she's attractive then hell yeah, it's a turn-on. But unfortunately the type of woman you describe is hard to find. It's 2010 and women are still acting like it's the 19th century. Why can't they be more aggressive? Why can't they be the ones to make the first move?
BG1985 Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 In general, aggressiveness is viewed as masculine behavior. Masculine men don't want masculine women. Leaders like to lead, not be led.
Skump Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 I demand a woman with inner strength. What good is a girl who can't put you in your place when you've really crossed the line? Of course, I demand a woman with feminine class, too. I'm not interested in a dude in heels. Hyper-Alpha females of the CEO variety end up alone because they're basically Hyper-Alpha Males: they're pathologically work obsessed, pushy and arrogant, neglectful of their families and children, etc. I have an acid test in this regard: Any woman planning to dump her little children in daycare is instantly delisted as a potential mate. I'm more than willing to make sacrifices to assure that over the long term, my wife can enjoy a satisfying career. With that said, my kid is going to have a mother, and all the pseudo-feminists piqued at that requirement can be damned.
